    I have a feeling that's an extra pump you run with vcds. You can hear it spinning up to 3000 rpm and when at 600 rpm the readings still show 3000. Could be a slight difference in the level vs just the engine running. Maybe worth testing if an extra drop come out when you turn that one off. Thanks for the video, got mine sorted this week.

    I have the same Audi manual as you, that green cavity I think is where the S-Tronic transmission fluid is housed. That is the fluid that’s on a 40,000 mile schedule. Makes sense since the green area affects the rear drive shaft. All you changed is the fluid that affects the front wheel drive aspect of the Quattro system

    • @davesterl
      @davesterl  8 месяцев назад

      This fluid change is for the automated gear change aspect of the dsg regardless of 2 wheel drive or 4 wheel drive. There is no rear drive shaft on this car as it it front wheel drive only.

    Hello I have a question and I would very much appreciate your opinion on this.
    I have recently bought an Audi A4 B9 2018 S-Tronic.
    I've managed to find that the gearbox oil was changed at 122 000 kilometers, car now has 208 000 , and I don't think there has been a gearbox oil change in the meantime, so it's overdue by 20 000 kilometeres, car shifts perfectly fine though so I assume it was driven very lightly and gearbox wasn't strained too much so it might be okay that it's a bit overdue I guess.
    From what I see when the gearbox oil was changed at 122 000, the filters have not been.
    My question now is should I also just go to the service and ask them to just drain the old fluid and put in new fluid, without any filter changes and without the "transmission flush" people talk about online.
    I'm afraid at it has done lots of mileage a flush would hurt it since some parts are probably worn out at this point.
    Thanks in advance !

    Noticed Gearbox never been serviced
    Audi say it’s a sealed unit and can’t service it

    Gearbox is smooth and working in good order
    Found a vw/Audi specialist say then can ?
    And should of been service at 40k

      Every time you change dsg oil you are supposed to drain the excess oil out. As you can see in the video he takes the filling tube off and there is some oil coming out as well. I'd say 0,2-0,4 litres.
      The oil level is correct when the oil is lightly flowing out of the filling plug when the oil temperature is between 35 and 45.
