I didn't like 2018 tho. Laurie being a big ol victim was insufferable for me. Plus the final act was the most anticlimactic in horror history. Laurie wandering around the dark with a flashlight? No chase? No final battle? Just a flightlight and a fire? No no no I'm praying Halloween Kills will be better but I have serious doubts that blumhouse can handle slashers. They're great at ghost movies for little girls slumber parties but slashers, not so much.

Hey Jdog Johnson I’m not here to tell you your wrong. You have a right to like what you like. I don’t like Halloween 4 or any of the sequels (discounting Halloween 3) until the 2018 movie because of the brother/sister twist. I always found that twist very dumb and ruin any chance of the franchise being good. Also their some flaws in the writing of Halloween 4 such as Michael Myers discoveries he has a niece, but it’s never explain how Michael knew how old she was, what she looks like and where she live
Well jdog Johnson “probably” does not solve anything. We never see Michael looks it up and their are no clues he looks it up off screen. The only movie that ever showed Michael looking things up was in Halloween 7
@@jamesgarrett8833 I don't remember him looking her up he just goes to where Laurie is but H20 is a scream rip-off anyways because kevin williamson who wrote scream was involved it was a late 90s teen horror thing late 90's horror all felt the same H20 I know what you did last summer urban legend many more!
Yeah jdog Johnson Michael looks it up, not on a computer 💻. In the opening scene of H20 as you know Michael kills the nurse that was working with Dr Loomis from the first movie. The reason Michael Myer was in her house was because he stole a file that had the information of where Laurie Strode was living. Also I don’t like H20 either. I never called it a scream rip-off because it something I did not realize until now, so I will call it a scream rip-off for now on
Apparently there's rumors that Halloween H2O was still supposed to take place in the same timeline as parts 4-6 but some last minute additions or cuts were made. When I first saw it in theaters, I always figured it was connected to the earlier films because of the car that's implied Myers was driving to get back to town (an old beat up 70's car). Which was used in previous sequels.
I liked how Danielle Harris described that it was more make believe in Halloween 4 & 5. The Rob Zombie remakes was more grueling on her. It didn't like how bloody it was. I wish her Annie character would turn into her Hatchet 2 character and fought back. Or just survived.
The mask in the film really was a Shatner mask from the same Don Post company that made the original, but the H4 production team clearly didn’t modify it as well as Tommy Wallace did in 78 so thusly they look like crap. The original mask before modifications is briefly seen in the school scene

How much was it? Old novelizations can be hard to find because they're oop. Some can be very expensive. One example is a used copy of an original Friday the 13th part 3 novel for 625 dollars .
Well the only one was in the first Halloween bit I was actually a bit disappointed that they didn't keep The Shape mask look for all the Halloween movies. But even then so they still came out pretty good. I can't complain tok much even though I still am upset over the fact Halloween 3 nothing to do with Michael or Laurie.
The orignal masks could not be used because of the legal battle initiated by William Shatter over never having received any royalty money over Don Post Masks using his likeness, however one of the remaining original extra non converted masks from H2 was used in the schoolhouse scene where Myers throws Dr. Loomis throw a door.
The scene where Dr. Loomis rode with the priest and listened to him talk about fighting evil was one of my favorite moments in the movie.

Halloween 4 and 5 I felt were more connected to each other than any other Halloween movies because it had an overarching story plot really centered on the niece of Michael Myers which I thought had an interesting premise but now it's not considered cannon to the Halloween movies with the new one ignoring all Halloween's after the original.
@Batgirl 22 Yes definitely.
@@thecheese4960 Yes definitely, I totally understand that, but sometimes it just confuses the audience with all these different timelines and what is cannon and was is not.
I love how happy Nicholas is about his books. Sending all the light and love to him and his cat
My favorite entry in the Halloween franchise! The twist at the end is one of the greatest endings I’ve ever seen, right next to Jason Goes to Hell.
It's cool that Minty had a special guest on his video today. I hope that it's a recurring thing or at least for special occasions.
The opening credits sequence of this film is still one of the best. Simple and creepy.
didnt mention that danielle was also in the rob zombie remakes.
Minty obviously didn't know that. Kinda like when he thought there was "17 gallons of water" in his Titanic review.
Despite Halloween 4 no longer being canon it still on my top five favorite Halloween films
1. Halloween 1978
2. Halloween 2018
3. Halloween H20
4. Halloween 2
5. Halloween 4
@Chandros Evans resurrection is the worst one it's on the bottom of my list
I'd say
5. Halloween 5
4. Halloween 2
3. H20
2. Halloween 4
1. Halloween 6
I didn't like 2018 tho.
Laurie being a big ol victim was insufferable for me.
Plus the final act was the most anticlimactic in horror history.
Laurie wandering around the dark with a flashlight?
No chase?
No final battle?
Just a flightlight and a fire?
No no no
I'm praying Halloween Kills will be better but I have serious doubts that blumhouse can handle slashers.
They're great at ghost movies for little girls slumber parties but slashers, not so much.
@@aelius93 it is what it is
The second best halloween sequel after 2.
I'd agree they all kinda went downhill after that. The new sequel is quite good though.
@@RaikenXion
I agree Halloween 1,2 and 4 was a great trilogy and the ending to 4 was a great cliffhanger but they never followed through with it in the underwhelming 5 or 6. personally I feel h20 was bland resurrection was garbage and zombies films were not really Halloween films. And yes I agree Halloween (2018) was pretty good although I wish it incorporated 2 and 4 but good nonetheless.
@@bigkmoviesandgames I hope Halloween Kills absolutely kills it interms of the story, i seriously dont know how else they can expand anything from this point. He took so much injury and hes like decades older now.
They have established that hes not supernatural, but i dont know its interesting though to see what they will do. I really hope they can make it truly scary and not rely on like loads of gore and just flat out horror.
@@bigkmoviesandgames H2O was my favorite because it had Loomis! The story wasnt that bad. Honestly danielle was an annoying turtle faced brat
@@Utubesanarc Loomis wasn't in h20.
Love your channel brother, you have a huge following here in Chicago! Please do Texas Chainsaw Massacre!
I'm a simple man. Minty post about Halloween... I smash LIKE.
Ay dont watch the movie BREAKIN 2 its trash!?
yuuussss
I never knew there was a book! I totally want that book now 🎃
you can find it on ebay, Grabowsky is selling some there...signed.
They did NOT find the mask in a store. It's literally the same captain kirk mask, but they covered it in too much paint, because the one they ordered arrived pink
Now I can't get the image of a pink Michael Myers out of my head!!! 😱😱😱
and even filmed a small shot of him wearing a pink one... in the school part...lol whups
Never noticed until this channel
What I truly like about it is the awesome blend of horror and action! Just seemed cool to me. Wished they could've gotten John carpenter on board to direct with his superb vision!
WOW Minty - thanks for getting Nick on here for his book!! I was NOT a big reader as a kid of the 80's/90's until I got into comics...but this is one of the very few books I picked up on my own, and read with great interest and appreciation (as I was not allowed to see the film at that time). Thanks Nick for the book sir!

I remember when! I was a kid when I seen the first Halloween movie !!!!!!!! scared the shit out of me lol I !!!!!!!!!!! couldn't sleep all night!🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃
Danielle Harris is a phenomenal actress. If she were this age today, she would be doing incredible work in one of Mike Flanagan’s masterpieces!
Honestly I think the franchise,to me,is Halloween(1978),Halloween II(1981),Halloween:H20(1998),A nice trilogy but this one is like taking place in an alternate universe or something.Pretty good.
I actually would have loved to have seen that Halloween produced by Cannon then they would have been really violent and action packed
I'm guessing Halloween Kills is the reboot of H4 but heavily adjusted characters
This is my favorite halloween film of the franchise the mask isn't the best but it's still a thrill ride and the cast is great Danielle Harris was excellent as Jamie Lloyd and some great sequences and a shocking ending which Halloween 5 messed up with shitty decisions I've always said this was the fun Halloween and has one of the greatest opening credits of any in the franchise I'll praise this sequel to my last breath because it doesn't get enough love no people would rather kiss Halloween 2018's ass when this film is so much better than a grandma with ptsd who's gun crazy God I'm so tired of the Laurie strode character and Jamie Lee Curtis coming and going!
@@jamesgarrett8833 probably looked it up he's not a dumbass you know
Well jdog Johnson “probably” does not solve anything.
I never called it a scream rip-off because it something I did not realize until now, so I will call it a scream rip-off for now on
In Halloween 1 and 2: painted William Shatner mask.
Halloween 4 Bill Murray!
Halloween 5 Tom Hiddleson! 😁🎃
There's also a rumor that Lisa Wilcox from Elm Street 4 also auditioned for the part of Rachel in Halloween 4
Salt Lake City, the site where Silent Night Deadly Night was also filmed.
The mask in the film really was a Shatner mask from the same Don Post company that made the original, but the H4 production team clearly didn’t modify it as well as Tommy Wallace did in 78 so thusly they look like crap. The original mask before modifications is briefly seen in the school scene
This mask was great.
No, it wasn't.
Halloween IV is my favourite in the entire series of Halloween movies.
I've always loved this movie!
Also, adorable kitty bomb at 9:36
That cat is going into business for itself.
Number two on the list is the best thing in all the 10 Things You Didn't Know series ever!!!! Plus the cat at 9:34 is the best videobomb I have seen in a looooong time!!!!
i filmed that video cats name is Rocky!
The great thing about Minty is that he doesn’t overthink things.
probably my favorite of the series with the exception being the first 2 originals of course. it came out when i was 8, i remember the ads on tv back then!
🎃I love his Tabby baby. Congratulations on your success 👍🏽
Dude - Monty - now you're getting celebs on your show. You're movin' up!!!
This was the first Halloween movie I saw when I was 6 years old. And it's one of my favorite guilty pleasures.
Halloween 4, A Nightmare on Elm St Part 2, Bride of Chucky, Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3, & Friday The 13 Part 7. These are My 5 Favorite Horror Sequels from These 5 Awesome Horror Franchise.
Here in the US alot Halloween fans fo like this movie. The one thing I didn't know was about the novel and writer friend. That was a nice addition to your video
When he pushed his thumb into that guys forehead 😍 that stuck with me as a kid. Badassery
I cant get what they're talkin about this one lacks the suspense in atmosphere this is one of the most atmospheric entries in the franchise
I agree. Even with the pressures of the time there's really not a whole lot of gore, the only 1 I really cringe at is the thumb in the skull, way too silly.
But yeah, Michaels mostly in the shadows till the end.
@@mattstorm6568 yeah the whole part in the sheriff's house when we know Michael is in the house with them that is one of the most tense suspenseful things in the entire franchise
It’s great to see Nicholas Grabowsky in this video. I have read his book. It’s awesome!!!
j.l we love you!
Grabowsky is right, you rock minty
This is a classic. The eeriest entry in the series
I liked this one, 5 was okay too, just got weirder after that though. Ms. Harris did a great job and the supporting cast was likeable
love your work, keep it up
The best part is the shotgun impalement lol and when they run to the school and Michael pops up out of nowhere so scary...
Another great video minty, u do a awesome job with researching and presenting everything. Halloween 4 is my favorite entry in the series. I would love to a video on Halloween 6 the curse of Michael Myers the theatrical or producers cut if u choose too. Thank u for another awesome video.
One of my favorite Halloween films!
I’ve been binge watching your videos the last few nights, especially the Halloween movies and I was looking to see if you made a video on Halloween 4 and you haven’t and today I get this notification. Thank you!
I just love the beginning of the movie, it makes the movie worth watching because it creates that perfect atmosphere for the movie.
I prefer Halloween over Friday the 13th, but Nightmare Elm Street will always be my favorite in the trio.
Halloween 4 & 5 VHS covers always caught my eye when I went to the video rental store back in the 90’s.
Awesome having an interesting guest on! EDIT: Am I the only person who just got on Amazon to buy the novelization?
I actually want it too
How much was it? Old novelizations can be hard to find because they're oop. Some can be very expensive. One example is a used copy of an original Friday the 13th part 3 novel for 625 dollars .
@@Utubesanarc Grabowsky is selling them on ebay signed on his store page, i believe a little less then $20.00
It’s crazy how your not really a big channel but your good friends with a celebrity. But like Nick said you kick ass, Minty😁😊👍
Actually this is my favorite out of the franchise. It's great!
Wait, Hollywood couldn't find a Shatner mask? Or make one? That's weak.
The fact you know the author and he did a bit for the video is pretty epic. His cats totally wanted to be in the video too LOL
I liked the mask in this one, MM looked frightening to me, I like you couldn't see his eyes and the freshness of it didn't bother me
The orignal masks could not be used because of the legal battle initiated by William Shatter over never having received any royalty money over Don Post Masks using his likeness, however one of the remaining original extra non converted masks from H2 was used in the schoolhouse scene where Myers throws Dr. Loomis throw a door.
Yes!!! Thank you Minty!!! Thank you for doing my suggestion. You are awesome!!
