Before 1835, this area was part of Tibet but then Gen Zorawar Singh of Mahraja Ranjit annexed it for Sikh Raj. When in 1849 Sikh Raj was annexed to British rule then it was given to Dogra king of J&K for betrayal (Gadaari) with Sikh Raj as prize when Separate Dogra Raj was started. Indian rulers never sent patrols their as in Kargill and Saichin. So China occupied it. Now India crying but can never dare to take it back, only paper tigers make paper statements.

There is no such region called South Tibet. It was all Chinese narrative deliberately infused by CIA in 1950s and sixties to create territorial dispute and dissensions between our two big countries. It would be in our interest to accept the present position and resolve the boundary dispute and become friend and brothers again. We should get rid of conspiracies hatched bye world powers of 1950s and 60s. It's time to stop claiming each other's territories rather we should make a union of Good and trustworthy neighbours.

It is one India policy not one china policy that the govt should be vocal of.
We can never adopt diplomatic policy like one China. Because China is envisaged to be combination of different countries belonging to various separate jurisdictions like Taiwan, HongKong, Tibet etc. where as India is constitutionally and essentially a one country only. There are no autonomous regions under one constitutional sovereignity in India like China. So one India policy on basis of one China policy is misplaced idea. that's the reason Indian government is not adopting that idea.
