How do you calculate the focal length of the lens when the Dof mk3 is connected to the iPhone 13 pro max. apsc uses a 35mm equivalent of 1.5~1.6x, how does the Dof mk3 calculate it?
i can't wait until the dof mk3 comes out. been waiting seems like forever. had to postpone shooting my short film in july because i want this adapter. patiently waiting.
I wanna see some footages of dof mk3 with corners are in focus. In this footage, center looks very good but cannot evaluate corner performance😅 anyway keep up the good work!

Great ! Waiting for the Richard Lackey DOF 3 review ! Look great for bokeh purpose but it stays an heavy setup. Does it always an EF mount ? Need a light weight Beastgrip pancake zoom to run&gun shooting or maybe a smaller DOF for MFT lens ! Bokeh is great, but ergonomic matters. For hobby, the dream could be to get an adapter for 8 or 16 mm film lens, as Back-Bone (Canada) do.

DOF mk 3 is very interesting. Wonder what a 100 mm focal length would look like on an iPhone 14 pro max. Also can your Beastgrip camera app shoot in a 10 bit log mode so that we don’t have to use prores?
STILL looks blurry in their test footage with the area in focused isn't going to be worth the trade off, renting a camera would give better results than this adapter for the cost.
@@RobandSijay A little bit of softness is fine. I think the bigger issues are strangely pixelated hair at 5:57, the chromatic aberration in the window decals at 6:02 (it's not just blurring the background, you can clearly see one side is blue/green and one is yellow if you look at the L's in Campbell and the big 11 above it), and the grain in the bokeh balls from the lights wrapped around the tree at 6:08 (you can see this same grain of either the DOF's lens or the finish of whatever the phone is focusing on in the DOF adapter in many brighter areas in the video at 2k or 4k). There are some things that seem oddly out of focus also but they filmed this using a 1.5 lens and we might just be seeing a very narrow focal range. I'll reserve judgment on that when we see a different lens tested.
The DOF MK3 provides better coverage, resulting in less zoom required and reduced distortion. It also captures more detail towards the edges compared to the MK2, although some softness may still be noticeable. The biggest improvement is in focusing, as the new adapter eliminates any issues previously experienced.
@@beastgripTV noted, I guess when you say dof mk 3 need less zoom you refer that is not necessary add 1.3x or 1.4x to capture the focus screen complete, right? Chromatic aberration was reduced? Now, the camera of some phones has improved in low light condition, I guess is possible to use lens with more zoom, for example, I use 70 300 basic lens cheap canon and it works really good, in the new DOF MK3 improved the system in order to improve in low ligh condition?
I still got my Nokia Lumia 1020. The phone still has a great camera in 2023. In fact, with the ever-higher surge of AI use on today's smartphone camera, it's so refreshing to go back to the 1020's DSLR-like realistic processing.

You have got to be kidding mate, buy a Beastgrip Lens to shoot Anamorphic on a Samsung S23 Ultra, you can do this by using the 0.6 Ultra Wide Video setting that is native to the S23. Gives you a perfect Anamorphic Video straight out of the S23 and all you have to do is edit with the Anamorphic 'black lines' which are standard in all Video editing programs for FREE such as DaVinci resolve 18.5 which is also FREE. Just another 'fradulant clain' and must be called out as such, in other words a 'rip off' and false advertising of the worst kind.
@Rick Deckard mk3 is "upcoming" product. Clips in this video is just some teaser. Please wait untill officially launched. I 100% sure they will cover with iphone too when it launch.

Yeah doesn’t seem very ergonomical. We’ll see
all our DOF adapters that we make are only compatible with Canon EF mount, a more compact, smaller DOF at this time is not achievable.
