- Archery ELK hunting is here! September, bugling elk, backcountry hunting, bow hunting, IT'S ALL HERE! Join along on my first public land, backcountry elk hunt of the season! There were plenty of ups and downs along the way. Anyone who has bow hunted for elk on public land knows what I'm talking about. Day 1 of archery elk season started slow... a couple of people bugles, no real elk, and tired legs from hiking lol. But that's bowhunting for ya! Good luck to everyone who is out there chasing around these amazing creatures. I'm so excited to share my hunting adventures with you guys this season! Stay tuned for a fall/winter full of elk hunting, deer hunting, bear hunting, upland hunting, waterfowl hunting, small game hunting, etc!

A beautiful day for a hunt and the scenery was just amazing. Bagging meat is awesome, but not absolutely necessary for a great day afield. I must add Idaho to my bucket list.

Outdoors Allie sometimes is good to get your hands dirty lol I grabbed some deer poop couple weeks ago but good thing they were hard lol next time I will use a stick like you my boyfriend uses his hands all the time. I can relate 😂

I am in the Sahara desert worst place you will live there there is nothing but sand I mean what the hell ,i am in Egypt this sucks I just wanted forest but it is all sand I mean should we make a project about making this desert a big forest or just live with the culture like my great great great grandparents did what do you think?

Get some cow in heat elk scent. I use it all the time. It's a little early though. It's best after the first frost. My old stomping grounds should be getting close. I like it when the bulls are looking for me.

@@OutdoorsAllie I would've never used scent for hunting if it was for my father in law. My father in law owns Moccasin Joe Dist. out of Hamilton Montana. I've been using his products since 1985. I won't go hunting without it. Try it and see if it's a game changer. Hope you find a great bull in Idaho, which is my home. Love the videos too.

Curious, are you using any GPS mapping systems like Garmin and Birdseye system? If I am still hunting an area, I generally like to use mine to keep a perspective of where I am compared to other terrain. Nice video!

You can't tell how old elk or deer poop is, by poking it with a stick. you have to pick it up with your hands and smash it in your fingers. Always rub fresh elk or deer poop on your pants!!
