All YOU have to do is mention The Frugal Crafter.
There is a dizzing amount of supplies you can use for rubber stamping. For this free stamping class we are going to keep things simple. I will go over a few other fun things to have later in the series but for now we are going to keep it simple and frugal:
    Supplies:
Stamps-your choice but I recommend versatile images you can use for many occasions as well as a few sentiments (greetings)
*If you are using clear or cling stamp you will also need a stamp mount (you can use a piece of plexiglass or clear plastic packaging if you want in a pinch)
Waterproof black or brown inkpad, I recommend Ranger Archival: hallmarkscrapbo...
Color media-I will be using these 3 items in the course but you do not need to have them all if you are just starting out, pick the one that you think fits your style more. Look for multi packs to keeps your costs down.
Waterbased markers: A few good brands are Spectrum Aqua, Tombow, Memento, Stampin Up, Letraset Aqua, Pitt I will be using Spectrum Aqua: hallmarkscrapbo...
Dye ink pads: Memento, Hero arts, Distress, Lawn fawn, Stampin Up, Altenew or any brand dye inks, the smaller pad multipacks are great if you have little storage space and or budget: hallmarkscrapbo...
Watercolor pencils: Prima, Derwent, Faber castell, Reeves and others are available. I'll be using Prima: hallmarkscrapbo...
    White cardstock: hallmarkscrapbo...
*Affiliate links to Hallmark Scrapbook used.

Something I learned when I was on a more frugal budget years ago...old CD cases work as stamping blocks in a pinch...used a CD case as a block for my handmade wedding stationary.

This is the best video for beginners! Thank U so much Lindsay. I've collected a lot of stamps and ink pads over the past several years from the Goodwill. I will now be separating them into different categories. I can't wait to get started using the stamps on cards, scrapbooking and for school projects for the kids.

I now know which inks go with which pencils, which cardstock to use n how to think about stamps n storage. I dont have to have the very best makes n everything I will need in the future ALL before I make my first card. You are a diamond, n im gonna luv these videos. Thank you again Luv from the UK ❤

I love this video, Lindsay! I was never into stamping until recently. I saw so many of your watercolor videos and I never knew it could be so versatile but I was scared of it. I found some permanent inks and tried stamping then using watercolor to fill it in and I love both now! I he branched out to drawing and watercolor and stamping so many things in so many ways. I just want you to know you have truly inspired me and got me out of my comfort zone. I wil never have to buy another greeting card. it also helps with calming anxiety. Keep doing what you're doing and I thank you and appreciate you and your videos so very much! 😊❤🎨

Thank you so much! I've never done any stamping or card making, but I've been curious about it for a long time. I really appreciate your honesty and how you show different techniques and supplies with my budget in mind. I've looked at other craft videos and they were more focused on making a sale than inspiring viewers!

Wow! I can barely remember when I started stamping! I think it has been close to 15 years now, and I'm still learning new things from you. :) I love the Rock-a-Block stamp holders; they stamp such a nice image. Most of my older stamps on are wood blocks and I'm so tempted to take them off the blocks and put them in notebooks like yours, but I'd never be able to throw away the pretty wood blocks. LOL Now I only buy the unmounted stamps.
I have always had the problem of buying duplicate stamps so I laid my stamp blocks picture side down on the scanner of my copy machine/printer and made pages of stamp pictures for a notebook. Then I could take it with me to the store to see if I already had a stamp before buying a new one.
Can't wait to see what you are going to cover next time; love your videos.

Then I look up at the screen and sure enough you have 1,049 thumbs up! LOL We love you Lindsay!

Am right in the middle of your precious Mothers Day seed packets (sorta missed THE day) but friends will enjoy receiving them, I know! Having such fun. Thank you for your wonderful work!!!! Yippi Skippi!! So kool. A whole summer of stamping, working with color, learning techniques that will help ME to look more professional. AND, I am guessing that a whole lot of these lessons will be useful in color savvy with my budding watercoloring 'stuff.' Thank you Lindsay sooooo much. One Stop Schooling - no more hopping around on YT wondering when I'll find that one technique that will work like a charm for lots of projects. Also Art Neko is the cat's meow for shopping artsie stuff - even to me here in Germany. This husband and wife team goes the extra mile, and they are so down to earth, very kind and oh so caring... I will have to sit tight on my energy level to wait for the next episode - maybe less butter in my one cup of morning jo? OH! maybe just keep the butter and work on getting my studio better organized! YES! that's what I'll do! Later Chick-a-Dee. ;) BTW loved the French braids this morning... pqh

Sorry, it's me again. Re-watching your video, a tip with the acrylic stamp blocks. If you are using a large one for small stamps, put a couple of other stamps at each end (stamps of the same thickness) this helps you not to rock the block and end up with smudges where you don't want them.
How do I know :-) made that mistake many times over.

A lot of good information Lindsay only for years now I buy things because they look so good to me:-) I'm not sure how to stop myself because I'm too old to have control. Keep up the good work, I enjoy watching and listening to you. Also I learn things, thank you, Joyce

The bad thing is...I'm not really a scrapbooker, but I have TONS of stamps, punches and papers that I get on sale because they are cute and I think...I will get time to make things one day. hahaha. When I moved recently, I took so much stuff to work to sell off, everyone was asking if I wasn't stamping anymore. The sad truth? I still have tons of stamps and craft stuff. hahaha. Anyway, what is the best way to clean your stamps? Thanks for the video. It's always fun watching you. You're energy is contagious.

I so enjoy your videos even when they are not meant for me, a seasoned stamper...I watch to the very end cause I love your energy and often still pick up a tip here or there...by the way, I love your hair today....

Found class one and you have so many hints and tips....great stuff :-)
Question....in your stamp storage binders, how do you manage to catalogue them in such a way that you can actually find the stamps you want for a project? Also, how do you keep track of the other varieties of stamps?
Lindsay, you give everyone a huge 'lift' with your infectious laughter and sheer enjoyment of what you do. Thank you so much.
My one gripe is that we do not have the luxury of Michaels or Joannes over here in UK
nor do we ever get coupons with money off for craft goodies:-(
One more question...is there any way of saving/storing any of your videos so that we do not have to search the net for them?
    Thanks

LOOVE your videos. I'm a newbie to the planner community but have always loved crafting. Do you have any tips for clear stamps that won't stick on the clear sheets they come with ? I have a few stamps that won't stick to the sheet and I'd hate to lose any of the small pieces.

thank you Lindsay! Ive been watching your videos for some time now. I do all kinds of crafts ( my favorite are recycling projects) but i have an interest in stamping, so I will be watching all of the stamping videos. Thank you so much for posting them. Also I would like to say, that I love to see in your videos when you mention other crafters that have RUclips channels that I am subscribed to. It is so nice to hear you mention mark from make your mark or socraftastic.! i feel like "oh Im Friends with them too". lol
you're a great inspiration. Any tips on getting organized. I have a craft desk and it is always a mess.

Lindsay, I was going through my stuff and found Faber-Castell pencils - amazing! The back of the package says fully water-soluble eng. and deutsch fully water useable, and okay for watercoloring. Good to know. Now, I find that I also have a tin of 12 colors from Derwent Inktense Blocks and they can also be used to watercolor. Which will be easier to use for a novice? Or am I just being over anxious, and just need to calm down and try each one on paper before class? Oh the things I tend to obsess over... Getting old is not for sissies. :)

      @thefrugalcrafter  9 лет назад

p horn you can use them both but the pencils will be easier, they are both good though!
