  • Gaming on a NAS, does it affect gaming performance? (using Integral V series SSD)
does storing your game library on a nas affect the gaming performance? is it a good idea to store your games on a nas? does it affect the loading times of your games?
today we will answer these question and find out if it is a good idea to store your games remotely on a nas over wifi and if it makes gaming performance any worse, and also if it significantly changes the loading times of your games.
i will be testing this out using a small nas i made using truenas and 2 2TB SSDs from ‪@IntegralMemoryTV‬ (huge thanks to them for sending these over)
i will then use a SATA SSD locally to test the games again and see the difference in performance, if any.
The gaming test system specs are:
    AMD Ryzen 7900X ‪@AMD‬
    Asus B650E-I Strix Motherboard ‪@asusrog‬
    32GB Klevv Cras V RGB DDR5 6200MT/s ‪@KLEVVworldwide‬
PowerColor RX 7900XTX Red Devil ‪@PowerColorChannel‬
    The nas is powered by:
    AMD Ryzen 5 5600G
    Gigabyte A520i AC Motherboard ‪@GIGABYTEMotherboards‬
    16gb Crucial Ballistix DDR4 3200MT/s ‪@crucial‬
Let me know what you think and if you would like to see a follow up testing this with a wired connection.
