I'm assuming that's the smoke stack right near the firebox. If so, that defeats the purpose of an offset smoker unless it's a reverse flow which it didn't look like. The draft is supposed to carry smoke through the chamber from the smoke box to the opposite side of the smoker, smoking all the meat. Looks nice but I don't see how it could work for smoking.
