In this episode of Dan Escapes I take my Slash an enduro full suspension Mountain bike to Trek Bikes in London Battersea where I show you how I service the pivot bolts and bearings. This is something you should check regularly to make sure they are running well.

Honestly, just the video I was looking for. I'd been dreading taking my pivot bolts apart on my Trek. Wish me luck.
It’s pretty easy!! Gets a bit fiddly with getting the spacers in but just need some patience. Let me know how you get on!
If only you felt the same way about cleaning the house 😂
Cleaning house won’t make me ride better on the trails 🙄
Hey Dan, I ride the same Slash 7. Quiet dumb question but how did you remove the rear shock, in my case, if I’m able remove the screw but the bolt isn’t loose and I can’t take it out. Any tips appreciated! Great video
Hey Max, so you it could be seized in there if it’s not come out. Best thing to do is use a tool with a lot of leverage and make sure there isn’t a no play (usually found in cheaper tools which do not measure exactly out to size) as can round out the bolt then you will have more of a problem. For both top and bottom bolts you will need a 6mm on one side and a 5mm on the drive side. To release the bottom bolts you will need to remove the chain ring. Try to remember how all the parts come out so remove slowly so can put back together easily. Hope this helps and remember to use a torque wrench when tightening back up, will say on the bolt how much, think it’s 10nm. Thanks for watching!
why you cut main pivot service, and how you open bearing
What degreaser, lube did you use?
The join on the rocker where the flip chip is - did it all just come out when you loosened the bolt? Ive got the flip chip out but the bolt just spins and I cant get the top part of the rear triangle off the rocker. Anything you can suggest?
How did you get the bottom pivoit bolt out I’ve been trying to get mine out and it won’t come our
From what I remember is you need a large hex key 10 maybe and indoor on the left side (non drive side). If it’s stiff might have to use gt85 and spray in there. Or is it something else?
Hello nice video. One of my main pivot points near the rear suspension is really hard to take out but the other ones come loose. Also I want to grease my rear suspension bolt holders but I can’t get the shaft out because one bolt comes out but the other one just keeps on spinning in the hole. Thank you
My rear suspension makes creaking noises and when I pedal it creaks. I greased everything exept for that one thing and my bottom bradkey
@@greasyrails2571did you figure out how to take it off?
@@dojyr3130 Hey so from a month ago I recently greased all the pivot points and regressed the crank arm inner shaft and the holes along with the tooth bolts and realized that it was a wire that went under the rear shock that creaked when it went up. All of that taking apart just for it to be a wire 😂
Was it the main middle pivot bolt that was hard to take out? Did it make like a cracking noise when you took it out or was that the thread lock?
@@joelshrestha8054yes i still can’t get it out lol
