I was born in Castleford (yes Leeds United fan) and also lived in Melton Mowbray. Came to America in 1983 and a citizen 2001 (live close to Chicago). Tips are crazy in America. About 3 years ago they even print on the receipts a "suggested tip amount". They used to be 15%, 18 and 20%. Recently those numbers are now 23%, 25% and 28%. My favorite Vegas hotels are Wynn, Palazzo and Mandalay Bay - Been about 50 times. Planning on doing the F1 race next year - it's in November and cold. LOVE your channel, I try to explain to my Democratic friends that EV's will NEVER work in America because Americans are too impatient and America is way too big. Anyhow - stay safe.
When I first came to Australia, I walked everywhere in the heat. There was no else out walking and every car that passed me gave me odd looks, found out later that most people on hot days do things early in the morning or late afternoon. Learnt my lesson as I felt like you did at end of your vlog, hope you are OK and found somewhere cool and had plenty of water to drink.
Lee you do need to stay out of the heat it is madness to be in the heat that long, obviously you are taking breaks here & there but you do need to do these vlogs early in the morning or late afternoon. Vegas for me now is starting to look worn out & the glamour for me has disappeared. I just feel the whole place needs a reboot. Always enjoy your Vlogs Lee & I hope you are feeling better now?

The way I see tipping is... The employer pays half the wages and the customer pays the other half on top of the overpriced meal. It really is outrageous the way the employer gets away with it.
As an American I agree the tipping culture here is definitely out of control. If the owners would pay a living wage to their employees it might possibly improve.
When I visited Vegas a few months ago and had a coffee there, they spin around a tablet and it asks you how much you want to tip with your choices being 20% or more. After paying 5 dollars for my coffee I just spun the tablet back around. 😂😂😂
I've 'dined' at Denny's around a couple of dozen times over the years, can't say I ever had a bad meal. However, at a Denny's in Georgia one mid-afternoon, I called in and ordered my meal (restaurant was nearly empty) and after a few minutes the manager came up to my table and sat down opposite me - apparently he'd heard my 'Briddish' accent and fancied a chat! Shortly after, my meal arrived, but instead of leaving me to it he just carried on chatting! I did find that a bit uncomfortable when eating my meal. Thankfully, he got called away after a while! 🤐
Ex Pat , Scottish first British Second, now living for the past 28 years in San Diego, sure everything is much more expensive now to when I first moved here. Covid did nothing to help, prices since the dark years have gone through the roof. San Diego is now the most expensive city to live in all the 48 continuous states. Average price of a two bedroom house in SD is now $ 850,000. As too tipping anywhere, it has got totally out of control, I only tip if I receive good service and then it is only 17%. Saying that, every time I go back to the old homeland, I find it just as expensive back there and tipping is now the norm in restaurants . Vegas in my view is just a city of shite, it used to be good 10 years back but now it is a rip off, hotels charging resort fees on top of your stay, charging to park your car, where it used to be free, sky high prices for everything. When the Formula 1 Grand Prix hits town, prices triple. Naw it is a place I now avoid like the plague, cheaper to take a flight to Cabo San Lucas in Mexico. But hey Lee thanks for adding to the economy of my adopted country, your dollars are welcome.
I know you can't see everything .(who would want to?) , however, old downtown has been re-imagined with unique shopping, bars, clubs and restaurants. I think this area would be of interest since its different from your previous LV videos
You can't compare fuel prices in the US vs fuel prices in the UK as the Octane is different (or I think they call it the RON over in the US). We have octane 95 and 98. Whereas in the US the octane is 48-95. The octane is basically how much energy is in the fuel - so you are buying less "energy" in the US. Also, their prices are for a US gallon, and our gallons are larger than the US.

The best travel recommendations through 2010 use to be a maximum 15% tip for excellent service, even though a few hotels automatically added a 16% tip for room service. As I understand, many hotels now automatically add 20 or 25%, even if the service is bad or terribly late. What's worse? Many take out food places now ask you on the credit card machine, how much tip to add (choices are usually $1, 2, 5, or 10 or none).
Yes its hot, but it has "cooled" down since mid summer. It's downright pleasant now. Baseball stadium. We already have a football stadium. I live in Vegas and tipping has gotten out of control. 15% used to be standard/suggested, now its 18 or 20% as the baseline. Many fast food places are also asking for tips, where you walk up to the counter to order, walk back to the counter to get your food, throw away your own trash, what are you tipping for?
I remember we got caught up in really bad fog coming back from Key West and we stopped at a motel in Fort Meyers. It reminded me of the place in Psycho. I think it had hourly rates and I refused to sleep in the bed.

As a Las Vegas resident, just a few notes. The walk that Lee did is about 3-4 miles. The iconic Tropicana Hotel is scheduled to be imploded on October 9 at 2:30 AM local time. It's always a big deal here when a hotel is torn down. The flood channel that you saw is where thousands of people actually live. I gauge how good a place is by the number of cars in the parking (car park) lot at breakfast, lunch, and dinner times. ALSO, the kind of cars/trucks/SUVs they are. The next of course is from asking people. The next is how many people are in there during meal times.
Lee, I agree with you about the tipping culture. When we first went to Florida the average tip was between 10/15% in a restaurant. The expectation now is 20% it’s crazy. Certainly within Disney in Orlando servers do very well indeed. It would be interesting to know what our American cousins think. BTW hope you are ok after your exertions!

Lee my son suffers with nose bleeds when it’s humid. When it was really hot my son had a nose bleed for 8 mins and proper heavy. When it’s cooler his nose bleeds slow down proper weird l.
Yep you got a bit of heat stroke there Lee , one thing I used to do in hot days was to soak a small towel in water and wear it around my neck to keep me cool . Just drinking water won’t do it because your head being the most exposed to the direct sun and heat ( even with a cap on ) overheats your blood and therefore your brain causing you to go into heat stroke. Anyway you survived , if it was 40 - 41 in Las Vegas I wonder what it would have been in Death Valley only about 2 hours or so away .
It’s “in n out” then for food while I’m there, from what you’ve showed us I’m wondering if anywhere else can compete for quality and price? I never did motel 6 but I did stay at Budget Suites, once…, I agree about the MGM Grand, it was nothing special but my favourite is The Signature, behind the MGM. Luxor was good in it’s day, the two lower level tower rooms, turn down service with chocolates too. The Monte Carlo sent me a commission cheque, (I blagged a travel agent discount), I stayed at Excalibur when it was new, $20 or so a night. Stardust was so so and then they blew it up. Just looked up motel 6 on Expedia, £81 a night inclusive, ridiculous! Imperial palace once, I stayed there for the car collection, of course, that’s gone too. I checked in and minutes later checked out of the Sahara, dump. It’s well known locally that only crazy people (usually Europeans and Brits now) go out in that heat, sorry Lee, hope you recover well, take care.
Enjoying your Las Vegas vlog you are so funny with your comments. You should do a tour of American diners the food is superb and more home cooked. Have you tried a rack of ribs in Vegas? Hope you survive the heat and it's great what you do. Keep up the good work Lee. 😎
You do know that there are very large storm drains that go under all of the Las Vegas Strip. When it rains, tons & tons of water gushed into these huge drains collecting all the water from around Las Vegas. On top of that there is an underground community of down on their luck people who live in there.
I was hoping you go past the famous “Pawn Stars” pawn shop on that walk. I’ve heard it’s on the strip somewhere. Oh and stop walking in the middle of the day sun, you’ll come back all strange….. too late 😂

Hope you are ok
Great video lee keep out off the heat take care 😂😂
Hi Lee I do hope you have recovered from your (what seemed like heat exhaustion) ❤
You do know that there are very large storm drains that go under all of the Las Vegas Strip. When it rains, tons & tons of water gushed into these huge drains collecting all the water from around Las Vegas. On top of that there is an underground community of down on their luck people who live in there.
And still the roads are absolutely full of water when they get hit with heavy rain.
Nice video just be careful of the heat nice and steady onwards my friends 🌞👍
There is some over priced tat in Las Vegas , and the food is the same !
Hi Lee, you were on the verge of having a heatstroke. Tipping used to be 10% of the bill.
I was hoping you go past the famous “Pawn Stars” pawn shop on that walk. I’ve heard it’s on the strip somewhere. Oh and stop walking in the middle of the day sun, you’ll come back all strange….. too late 😂
Put your cans or bottles in the sink with cold water, instant fridge & easy refreshed if the water warms up 😉
Lee …. Get back to Benidorm please….. walking around car parks is disappointing mate…..
I’m going on Sunday .. will be checking out Lucy…
Take care out there Lee……
