New ro tour channel, really enjoyed this video. I have wanted to learn to make my own lure but it seemed a little overwhelming, you helped to show me I can make make my own. I appreciate it and keep up the good work. Thanks again
@OutdoorMike just got started with smart ph and utube live in Northern Nevada started trapping again after 40 years at age 67 forgot the old stuff great video. Retirement is great lots of time to trap
Thanks for sharing. I've been looking for a simple, easy to make bobcat gland lure. Your video and explanation was spot on for me. Good luck trapping those kittys. Well done. Keep the videos coming!
Thanks for keeping it simple and taking the mystery out for us rookies .But gotta say I might have to do the Vicks under the nose trick thx again and keep the knowledge coming
New to the channel but a life long Trapper, Have used baits from a lot of the great ones and some of the newer ones Looking forward to trying this bait. Tom
Thanks for sharing you video, I just started trapping, I’ve been able to catch a few cats and other critters. Quickly realized how expensive it is to keep all my traps baited up. I’ll give this a try and see if I can make it work. Thanks again
I had a whole bunch of bobcat glands from last season and was planning on making a gland lure myself, but sadly my freezer broke and I lost all of my cat glands, and a bunch of fur.
Nice job. I'd use one of them bigger containers with the pour spout mix everything all at one time might make it a little easier. So would that be called using fresh glands? and when glands are dried then ground down called aged glands?
Not sure where you are located but I also made a video on how I setup my cages. You might find it useful as well. If you have any questions during the season feel free to reach out to me on Instagram @outdoormike1 always happy to help.
I'd assume so. I use kidneys, the glands from the back legs and inside the front shoulders the anale gland and the bladder. I also use the foot pads and the glands from behind the ears. I made a video showing the glands that I cut out and the locations as well.
I have watched so many videos on removing glands from animals and I'm wondering why folks do not include female reproductive glands and male testicles? Also, instead of catnip I'd recommend silver vine as it is far more attractive to felines. How did this work out for you?
Huge fan of bobcat trapping. Was always curious how to make gland lure and how to remove glands from the bobcat. Good video
Thank you.
Nice looking lure brother

Love to watch you videos because you teach alot to. Especially to a green horn like me. Thanks and keep them videos rolling!

Sorry to hear that. Thanks for watching.
What’s the liquid in the gland jar? And did you tincture them or just keep them cold or?
@patrickhier7252 If I remember right I added some glycerine to it. I kept it in the fridge until I took it on the trap line.
Nice job. I'd use one of them bigger containers with the pour spout mix everything all at one time might make it a little easier.
So would that be called using fresh glands? and when glands are dried then ground down called aged glands?
I believe that is the difference yes. I froze mine and thawed them out to make my lure. I may try the drying process next season.
Only trap one cat. By accident I think but will be use if your video if and when I catch more. Thanks

That would work for fox wouldn't it. What glands do you use.
I'd assume so. I use kidneys, the glands from the back legs and inside the front shoulders the anale gland and the bladder. I also use the foot pads and the glands from behind the ears. I made a video showing the glands that I cut out and the locations as well.
I need some Stat for some Oregon cage Bobcat trapping
I definitely want to do a video your lure especially if win.
When does your season start?
@@OutdoorMike November 15th
@@AnthonyRubeoOutdoors We start November 1st. Although in Southern AZ I sometimes wait until December to start when it is colder.
What glands are using never took them from my cats not sure where they are
I actually did a video on gland removal on bobcats. I use all these glands in my lure.

I would love to try you bobcat lure
Hit me up on Instagram. @outdoormike1
Nice how long do your glands set before you grind them
These ones were from last season. Started saving them at the beginning of January so they were in the jar in a fridge 6-8 months.
I did use some fresh at the beginning of my season straight out of a cat chopped them up with a knife and caught a few with them last season also.
Try adding Silver Vine... it drives cats wild
Thanks for the Tip! I'll check it out.
I’m new to your channel I would love to give your lure a try
Hit up my link to my Facebook Group on my channel.
Thanks for the video. Hope I win
Valerian is great on cats IMO better than catnip I have seen more response to it....been makeing my wn lure for 30 plus yeart..enjoyed the video
I will have to give that a try! Thanks for watching.
@@OutdoorMike epending on the quality of the valerian 10 to 12 drops per pint....or just until u can brley smell it in ur lure

Also, instead of catnip I'd recommend silver vine as it is far more attractive to felines.
How did this work out for you?
It worked out well. Thanks. I did end up buying a large tub or cat nip and silver vine mix that I use now.
