Berkshire is pronounced Berkshire. Swindon was home the the GWR workshops, not just an engine shed.

The GWR Class 800 are still the best trains when they came including service in 2016/17 but the Class 43 HSTs will always be remembered on the Great Western Main Line.

43s have less acceleration but apart from that the 800 is worse in every catagory

Hi, I know your post is already 1 year old.
I wanted to ask, as we are taking the Eurostar from Paris to London St Pancras Station and then need to get to Paddington, is one hour changeover time enough? or is it better to allow more?

Should only take 20-30 minutes, as there's only 5 stops on the Underground and trains are every 4 minutes on average.

Nice video and enjoying your channel. The class 800 seem all good on paper having faster acceleration and better green credentials but lose out massively on passenger aesthetics and ergonomics. Having travelled several times on both the 800's and the class 43 sets (HST's) as far as Penzance I can say that the 800's first class seats far less padding than the standard HTS seats, the 800's are noisier and rougher than the HST mk 3 carriages and lack the all important window/ seat alignment that was the norm. A case of "we'll make do" rather than putting design effort into the passenger experience. Same could be said of the new mk5 sleeper carriages on the Caledonian sleeper instead of refurbishing the old but superior BR built mk 3 carriages like GWR did for the night Riviera.

I'm surprised they let you film in there, everytime I try to capture ANY station in London they're all over me like I'm a terrorist plotting a bombing. Crazy

@@nigelbenn4642 yeah man. I use a go pro for this reason, with a dslr I don’t get 10 seconds. Also I have the front screen and lights off so there’s no indication it’s on. I’ve never been stopped with it.
