Salt Point is NO mystery, it was a decent place to dive, but highly pressured! You are better served using a kayak/boat or hiking down remote area,s if you are fit enough. I liked taking a Dolphin board, my pole and spear gun along with my ab gear, depending on what you see, you can do well, and have a place to warm up and rest or fish with the pole. Definitely a way to get more range and get to better spots!
Salt Point has been a dive/training spot since before I was 17 and first dove, I am 60 now, its long been known for diving, but over used due to ease of access and the showers and change rooms.
