Such a great job on the swap and an even more beautiful pickup! I grew up driving these...new! My '72 probably won't turn out quite this nice and it won't be a Fummins. I personally am kinda over the Cummins deal, I've had a few of them. Great engines, but with these older pickups, I just really enjoy the sound and driving the likes of the 390's, 428's and so on. They have good HP and plenty of torque for what I want out of them. Great driving and riding machines.
Coming across y’all’s video took me down memory lane! I had a 1970 F250 Camper Special 4x4 and I bought it used, of course from a guy and he and his son had put a 428 in it out of a 68 mustang! After tearing around in it for a couple of years it was pert near wore out, so a friend of mine his dad was a machinist and I talked to him about rebuilding the engine. After doing some research it turned out that was a pretty rare motor, the block I guess, and he helped me sell it to a friend of his for $3,000.00 as is. We took that money and put a really nice 390 in it with a cam and apropos lifters etc. I drove that baby all over the place but eventually the gas bill was eating me alive what with the 4 wheel drive and the big block so you guys did it right with putting in that Cummins. Such a clean install and it really looks nice with that two tone paint scheme! Mine had a sliding rear window and dual gas tanks but other than that it was identical to yours. I sure miss my baby but not the gas bill, damn! That beast ate an eighth of a tank just warming up! Enjoy the fruits of your labor and god speed to you and yours! 🇺🇸💪👊👍😅
LOVE IT! They should have the Restoration Shop. These crazy fuel prices are scary I seen diesel at$5.40 the other day and I can remember 18 wheelers we put easy 200 in fuel. I worked a shop for truck shop for anything from K-whoppers, to pete an international 4 yrs doing work diesel every type of truck that came in. My first week of work was cleaning skid plates and putting a good 5 gal grease on them. So to see that clean engine is something to be very proud of, So young and braking knuckles on that truck. Keep on building. 🚛
Bloody yeah boy well done She’s beautiful ❤❤ , beautiful bonding between father and son even thought they look like brothers , that F600 cluster is also the cluster used in the Brazilian Bumpside from the 80’s till early 90’s my Bumpside SR country / Bronco got same cluster ! All the best from South Australia 🇦🇺
@@FordEra glad they finally went back to the reliable pushrod platform with some cubic inches. My only concerns from the standpoint of someone who does all thier maintenance ,is the chain drive oil pump and the the ever problematic VCT . The only two weak points in it.
Truck is beautiful too bad you did what everyone hipster that doesn't know how to wrench on stuff did and put a Cummins in it.Would have been cooler with the 390 or 360 it came with in it or even a powerstroke
How is that too bad? They redid that 12v so plenty of wrenching. Except that a 360 or 390 are both slow & cant tow well or get any good fuel milage. Powerstroke 7.3 is not comparable to a 12v since its so much larger, slower & way more electronics for a "Simple" motor
@@FordEra unfortunately I'm not really sure you know much about working on stuff.I'm just saying keep a Ford in a Ford. The Cummins swap is like the sbc in every hotrod from the eighties and like the ls swap.Theres plenty you can do to a 390 or 360 to make it a tow rig since it's an fe motor.Heads, Cam etc.The 7.3 isn't really all that complicated either.I have a bullnose bronco with a 96 7.3 and it was pretty straight forward to do.
@@FordEra The 70 390 made 255 horsepower and 327 ft lbs of torque,a 95 12 valve made 160 horsepower and 400 ft lbs of torque.Really not a huge difference. At the end of the day I respect and love the truck by far my favorite looking Ford truck ever.I just am to much of a damn diehard Ford guy so it kills me to see a Cummins in it.But I respect the build and the truck.Sorry if I come off as a dick it's just the Ford guy in me.Beautiful truck man
@@Sleep_Diety ive driven many 390s and MPG for me has always been between 6 & 10. on my 12V i get 16-24mpg and that is to me the reason. also i hve 650hp and 1200ft lbs and get that milage where if it was a 390 i would be a full blown race car motor and unreliable. you do know that the 12 valve cummins did come factory on ford f550 & bigger in the 90s?
@@FordEra that would be the the 650 and up in the 90s the 550s still were running the 7.3 not a 12 valve. Our 95 650 grain truck had a 12 valve in it so I did know that.I'm just saying Ford motor in a kick ass Ford truck is the way I'd go in my opinion.Man this has been a good back and forth thanks man
I am glad that people take the time to paint them much better than rusty

That 17 year old is a lot older looking, maybe 40😂
I would rather have that truck then 3 brand new fully loaded F350
how in the hell did you make this video without starting it up? lol everyone wants to hear how it sounds sheesh
Nice truck. Much rather see a 12v swap instead of coyote swap.
why not both?
