Tried this recipe today. Got all the ingredients in a Korean store even the soy sauce and chili powder. And used the exact measurements as prescribed,…and it’s perfect! Thank you deliciousLee with Ara. 😉
Hi ara, my daughter likes to cook tteokbokki but no veges. Thank you for sharing this so i can show her the nutricious tteokbokki.. greetings ftom belgium
Hi! Ms. Ara.. I had fun watching at the same time learning your Korean dishes simple and easy to follow. A very unique food vlog, no need for English Subtitle ㅋㅋ I have to seek for your suggestion, is it possible to cook tteokbokki na hindi spicy or without using chili paste? My colleagues wanted to try this since I told them it is really delicious as they see on Kdramas but they find it too spicy. even though mild spicy hindi nila ma take ang spiciness. If u mind give a different recipe na not spicy tteokbokki. Thank you so much. Stay safe po 😊
Hi florence! The original tteokbokki really is spicy, but as an alternative you may want to try cooking the SOY version tteokbokki instead ruclips.net/video/dMEV7QGlzbk/видео.html
Yes, and if it is the “korean” type of gochugaru, it would melt so its okay. However other types of chili flakes as they would use different chili- may not be recommended
Hi there, no need to add starch as the rice cake as it cooks will thicken the sauce, also the Gochujang (chili paste) thickens the sauce as it is boiled because it contains starch on its own already :)
Hello po, ask ko lang po if better po yung taste nya kung mag add ng dried kelp and anchovies sa water? Or alin po mas okay, if meron po nun or wala. Thankyou po!
Its quite hard to make TTOEK from scratch, it requires alot of more complicated process for you to attain the right texture of tteok. (grinding mixing steaming etc) however its not impossible- 😉
Pwede palang soy-garlic sauce sa tteokbokki (referring to your latest video, which is in English). New subscriber here! I really appreciate your effort doing korean food recipes in Tagalog/Taglish. 🇵🇭Walang ibang Korean na gumagawa nun sa YT (kung Tagalog cooking vids ang paguusapan). More power, Ara!
Hi Chef Ara! I'm looking for teokbokki recipe and saw your video :) new subscriber here. I saw someone using samjang instead of gochujang. Is it okay bcus I have samjang here, what would be the difference?
in korea we use GOCHUJANG or CHILI POWDER for tteokbokki- and ssamjang mostly as a “dip” for meat, etc. samjang is actually a mixture of fermented bean paste + gocujang If you would want to go authentic- pls just use gochujang 🤗
Hi marz! Nope, it is best recommended to be eaten as cooked. Maybe you can store in ref for couple of days, but the rice cake (tteok) wont be as chewy as it was when newly made. Kimchi- can be preserved longer because it is fermented, and not really cooked 😉
I am sorry but I am missing a lot of words: looks like you are not speaking English but a mix of English and different languages and I find myself staring at the screen trying to read CC and missing recipe steps… 😢
Hello can I ask if ano pwedeng gawin sa natirang sauce sa Tteokbboki? Lik pwede ba syang i-stir fry sa rice?😁 Btw ur tutorial is so cute!! Looking forward to ur next vid!
hello! can u make a tteokbokki recipe that isn’t that spicy for ppl like me who’s not good at eating spicy foods? it’s okay as long as it isn’t so spicy hehe thank uu >
Sorry there isnt really any substitute for chili powder since its one of the most important ingredient. However if you dont like spicy, please check out SOY TTEOKBOKKI which is available in my video list 😉

Mozarella :)

Hi Ms. Ara... I wanted to try your tteokbokki recipe, but how many days will it last on room temperature?
Hi there, tteokbokki is recommended to be consumed as soon as you make them 🙂
Why you didnt wash the leaks and cabbage?
Love it!!! Can’t wait to make at home!
also tell us how it went 🥰
Looking good, will try it. Thank you for the recipes
Thanks Chef Ara.💞
I have coarse gochugaru for kimchi making. Pwede po ba iblend sa food processor yon para maging powder at gamitin?
Yes, and if it is the “korean” type of gochugaru, it would melt so its okay. However other types of chili flakes as they would use different chili- may not be recommended
I bought the frozen version of this and the sauce was so HOT. Are Korean eating spicy foods all the time without having tummy issues?
Im making toppoki niw..lhehehe

😍 I see. Thank you. I will try your recipe, chef.
Hi Chef Ara! can I use Chicken, pork or beef broth po para hndi bold yung lasa?
Yes u can, although its really not necessary :)
Hi mam, love the video po .. ask lng po sana how long would be the shelf life of tteok bokki? Weeks po ba o months o days lang po?
Well its quite short because once u cook the TTEOK (rice cake) it can get very soggy in few days.
Can i use garaetteok homemade? Thanks po
Hello po, ask ko lang po if better po yung taste nya kung mag add ng dried kelp and anchovies sa water? Or alin po mas okay, if meron po nun or wala. Thankyou po!
If u have its better :)
chef, pwede ba gumasa ng tteok from scratch from glutenous rice flour kasi yun ang meron ako eh. gusto ko sana try feom scratch para mas mura.
Its quite hard to make TTOEK from scratch, it requires alot of more complicated process for you to attain the right texture of tteok. (grinding mixing steaming etc) however its not impossible- 😉

Hi chef! Is there a difference between normal chilli powder and korean cholli powder?
There is a difference in the type of chili used- tastes a little different (my personal thoughts) 😉

How many days po ma preserve yung tteokbokki ? Like same po ba sya sa kimchi na weeks. Pwd pa kainin ?

Hi there! I do have a recipe uploaded here, pls check SOY TTEOKBOKKI :)
Maybe just adjust the gochujang and chili flakes youre gonna use?
What kind of soy sauce did you use?
If u have Korean soy sauce (JIN GANJANG) that would be good but actually any TOYO would do 👍

I am so confused with trying to understand her. Is she speaking two languages or am I missing something?
yes she is speaking two languages. tagalog and english
Decide in which language you're going to speak in a video. Speaking 1/2 english is so hard to understand...
nagpapacute pa mag salita, hay naku
Talk too much. Annoying ☹️
