Sorry guys! I have mentioned my new channel a few times as it was originally supposed to be ready by now. But getting 2 videos a week out for this current series has really stretched my time. But I have a few videos filmed for the 2nd channel. Just need to edit them and get them uploaded (hopefully by the end of December) so I’ll let you know!
Albania was a pleasant surprise. That lady in the honey shop, was a lovely lady, she was so desperate to give you your change, she couldn't believe your generosity, you made her day, well done you
That conversation with her where she was trying to give me the change went on for much longer than I showed. She kept trying to show me all the individual prices to add them up! It was only a small bit of change but she wanted to make sure I didn’t pay too much, which was lovely :)
For anyone else curious, apparently the honey lady said "best calories, live a healthy life" - although of course that might be a literal translation that deviates from the meaning of a common parting phrase
We spent a few weeks in Albania in 2022. Loved it and we’ll be back. First night there we parked up in a field camp site and had had a firefly display for an hour or so. Loved the country and the people.
Albania is/or was the hidden gem of Europe, very welcoming people, inexpensive 1000 Lek is around £8.49, restaurants are very reasonable, stunning views, fuel prices are a little above UK price, Adz, great video as always, enjoy your journey, tomorrow I'm off to Tirana for the weekend
That was actually very good improvisation cooking the steak - btw Rind means beef in German so it wasn't reindeer. There's actually some rare Tunisian beef tagine (stew) recipe which uses coffee, and honey is used to cook beef in Korean recipes. So it should have been nice. Nice improvisation too with the shower gel, nothing wrong with that and better than using washing-up liquid instead of shower gel. I've even used washing powder to wash my hair once when I didn't have shampoo, worked fine.
Albania is beautiful love the people travelled the same route from England 2 years ago in a van ended up in Greece, Turkey, Bulgaria Albania is my favourite, enjoy the rest of the adventure Mr x😊
Oh my god, I am so scared of these loos. When I was around 4 or 5 years my school at the time was build above a cemetery because land is limited on an small island. And the bigger children used to say the dead people will come through the hole and get us. So as a small child I took it to heart and since even in my 50's I am still scared of them. I never used them again since and I will not use it again. Thanks for the memory. I love your journeys because they aren't touristic but very authentic.
In 2016, I've been in Albania for a 1 day city trip when I was staying in North Macedonia.. well, I just love countries like these!! It's so different and oh so beautiful! Dont know about now, but the guide told me it was the poorest country of Europe, so sad. But he also said that every time when he is back into Albania the country looks better and better. Love to go back ❤️
Looks beautiful Adz. What a lovely little adventure to find the honey shop. Unique washing up liquid after a weird but (obviously) wonderful seasoning extravaganza. Finishing off with a lovely guy letting you loose on his bar. Great stuff mate.
Great videos mate and great scenery on your journey. It shows how different countries are completely different in many ways .Keep them coming .Oh I forgot to mention don’t get caught and taken hostage again who will pay the ransom 😂😂😂
As always interesting video, giving the veiwer an insight into traveling around the many different places of Europe. Not quite figured out where the other chanel is. Hopefully one day.
Always wondered what regret would smell like!!!! 😂 the Honey lady was brilliant, could hardly understand her but she was a star. Looks a great place, not somewhere I’d ever thought about going but it does look good. Great vid mate looking forward to more from this series.
Lovely part of the world. Honey woman was nice, as was the customer at your bar at the end. Seems like they're nice and friendly over there. That cobbled road through the market is a thing of beauty too. Loving this trip so far. Don't see many people travelling these areas. Coffee an honey? Honoffee, I like it. I'm dissapointed that I've never tried that blend of goodness myself. I shall have a go.
Good video again, you are thousands of miles away and amazing you chose Bombay Sapphire Gin, the distillery that makes that is about 25 minutes from me in Hampshire !!
@@Adz When you are back in the UK you ought to go for a tour of the distillery, they are open to the public and offer different things to do, You can even create some of your own tastes
Yeah man, Albania is different, quirky, you either love it or hate it. I love it. You can also get this kind of feeling in Bosnia, but you won't know about that, lol, and to a some extent in Montenegro if you head off of the main roads. You should visit Lake Skodar, it's beautiful.
Another top notch video mate! Especially the honey adventure - it took me back to the time I went looking for honey. Honestly, I wasn’t even after anything fancy, just your basic jar of the golden stuff. But somehow, this completely innocent quest spiraled into one of the most baffling evenings of my life. Let me explain. So, picture this: I’m wandering around town like some sort of honey-obsessed lunatic, popping into every corner shop and supermarket, and finding absolutely nothing. Then, as if by divine intervention, I see this place called The Honey Club. And I think, "Well, that’s it, isn’t it? A whole club dedicated to honey! What are the chances?" In my head, I’m already imagining jars stacked to the ceiling and maybe even a bloke in a beekeeper outfit giving free samples. Anyway, I stroll in, expecting some sort of honey-lover’s paradise, but immediately something feels... off. No jars. No beekeeping paraphernalia. Just a lot of red neon lights and women walking around who, let’s just say, weren’t dressed for the great outdoors. And for a split second, I thought, "Maybe it’s a themed honey party?" You know, like a quirky marketing angle. But no. No, this was not about honey at all. I’d accidentally wandered into… well, let’s just call it a gentleman’s establishment. A very specific kind of club that had absolutely no relation to bees or honey or toast. But here’s the thing - rather than leave immediately, I thought, "You know what? I’d better stay. Just to confirm there’s no honey." Because, at this point, I’m fully invested in solving this ridiculous mystery. So there I am, sat awkwardly at a tiny table, sipping a Coke I didn’t even want, while some very flexible woman did… well, things I’m not sure gravity usually allows. And I couldn’t stop thinking, “Why call it The Honey Club? What’s the connection?!” False advertising if ever I’ve seen it. Anyway, after a couple of hours - purely in the name of due diligence, mind you - I accepted the fact there wasn’t a single drop of honey in the building. None. Not even a sachet. And I walked out, empty-handed, slightly poorer, and thoroughly baffled by the entire experience. Moral of the story? If it sounds too good to bee true… it probably is.
😂😂😂😂 well all I can say is that I’m extremely glad the lady in the honey shop didn’t start acting that way 😂😂 but it just goes to show simple ideas lead to crazy adventures!
Great video, you always make me laugh. I'm in Morocco right now, and Albania looks very similar. Random donkeys wandering about, great.markets and a certain element of chaos where google hasnt a clue! I had to swerve to avoid a tortoise in the road the other day! Add camels into the mix and its a fabulous adventure! So I'll be heading to Albania very soon. Thanks 😂
Coffee!!!! Omg! 😂🤣😂 I'll pass thanks 🤭 I get what you mean about travelling, that place is not like most normal places in Europe. Thanks for another great vid 👍🍻
