Ken once told me, always buy the best tools you can afford they will be with you for the rest of your life, that was in the 1960s and I still have those tools.
My foster father counselled me the same, in the mid-1970s. He also observed that if you come across a task for which you don’t have the right tool, consider it the opportunity to buy the right tool. You usually recover it’s cost the very first time you use it, if the only available alternative was to pay someone else to undertake the task. As a result, I own various measuring devices used in automotive engineering and a good range of tools to do with screwing in / unscrewing and repairing various fasteners and fittings ranging from tiny pilot air restriction jets in a carburettor up to large bolts holding pieces of car transmissions together.
