  • Morels. The truffle of the Pacific Northwest. A hyper-seasonal, super-artisanal mushroom that comes out in May and June and is usually foraged and served on fancy restaurant menus for expensive prices.
This video takes you deep into the heart of the woods and morel industry, showing you how I hand forage for local morel mushrooms my home state of Washington. Something I grew up doing, and is a peaceful way to reconnect with the land. Through decades of successful foraging I've honed my techniques and teach them to you :)
Unlike most local delicacies, Morels actually taste good. My other video shows how they can be cooked into a yummy shallot cream sauce that is amazing with pasta or steak.
Morels flavor can described as earthy, warming, piney, umami, creamy, hint of zest and pacific northwest musk. A true delight! I hope this is helpful for you and good luck finding morels!!!
