Abe Laboriel is a founding bass father all the way back to Andrae Crouch , The Winans, Koinonia and Helen Baylor. Dont forget Reggie Parker from Brooklyn NY with Hezekiah Walker James Hall and Maurette Brown Clark
Fred Hammond should be on this list. He is a phenomenal singer, but he is also an awesome bass player and big influence to a lot of players. check out Pages of Life I & II. it may not be him on a lot of the songs, but he wrote it. Props to Justin Raines, the man is amazing.
I also was in jazz band with Jermaine he plays all insturments proficiently played guitar in jazz band at itawamba community college in Fulton under Cass Patrick we had a crazy jazz band
Andrew Gouche had a spot in LA /Gardena where they would just bring it. If Fred was in town or John P Kee or Men of Standard do their thing. Eric Dawkins, Keith Crouch Erica Campbell and a bunch of fine musicians and singers would be many of whom I didn't know. There was one guy George I don't remember his last name and I believe that he was in two professional bands he played amazing guitar solos. I don't remember that last name it was awesome. The place was called the Praize Connection.👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🎤🎵📻🎹🎷🎺🎸🥁
Can't argue with anybody on the list but Top 7 must have been some kind of A.I. algorithm. Way to many talented masters of the craft left off the list. Who does a top 7 ever? At least top 10.

Dywane Thomas Jr can definitely play some serious gospel, but he's more of an artist....he should have his own video feature. 🙂 I'd haveMatt Ramsey, Joel Smith, Mo Fitzgerald, Thaddeus Johnson, Thaddeus Tribbett, Darrell Freeman, Tony Russell-Spivey, Terrence Palmer, and Jimmy Neuble on the next video.
Where's, Maurice Fitzgerald, Tony Russell, Terrence Palmer, Abraham Laboriel, Reggie Parker, Thaddeus Tribbet, Jamario Artis, Thad Johnson, Bernard Harris, Donald Alford, Matt Ramsey 🤷🏿♂️😳
Matt Ramsey and Kaybass and Zekology 5 Travis Dykes Thad .Andrew Gouche is Matt Ramsey Uncle from a differenr era cause Vic Wooten actual s from gospel. You need to look those cats up.Mono Neon isnt gospel and Darrick Bennett . Those all dope but you can swap an of those elite talents except Gouche

Darryl Freeman has to be one of the most in demand Gospel bassists of the last 20 years. He really crushes live recordings.
Thad, Free, MoFitz, Joel, Kaybass, Tres, ….. I love all the guys listed, but I’d shuffle a few names
Okey, may be I'm too old... I was waiting for Abe Laboriel

Andrew Gouche had a spot in LA /Gardena where they would just bring it. If Fred was in town or John P Kee or Men of Standard do their thing. List of 7 is just way short. Where's Darric & Thad ??
What you know about Thad?
Thaddeus tribbett?????
Dywane Thomas Jr can definitely play some serious gospel, but he's more of an artist....he should have his own video feature. 🙂
I'd haveMatt Ramsey, Joel Smith, Mo Fitzgerald, Thaddeus Johnson, Thaddeus Tribbett, Darrell Freeman, Tony Russell-Spivey, Terrence Palmer, and Jimmy Neuble on the next video.
What is the name of the Dwayne Wright is playing at the end of his chapter ?
Where Donald Alford, kaybass and Matt Ramsey….the list is no where close to complete without them

Mononeon my best
So surprised that any such a list can exist without Abraham Laboriel

Reggie “4-String” Parker!!!!!
This isn’t a real list without Maurice Fitzgerald

GodFather should be first in the list imao
Saved the most legendary for last!
A TOP 7 GOSPEL BASS VIDEO without SHARAY REED, THAD JOHNSON or MATT RAMSEY is bad. 🙄🤔😡😭😱😳🤦🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️
Sharay is there
No Mark Walker! ...he played for serial gospel artists. Then, he went off and did his own thing!
Just let me say it’s an insult to stop at an odd number such as 7 !! At lest do top 10 or 20 😂😂😂
You are on point
7? But bassist is singular.
No Ramsey then I can't watch
Daric Bennett is not here so is not complete oo
Bias list lol
Page gotta be ran by a volture. No one familiar with gospel musicians or bass would spell it “SHEREE REED”
If there’s no Matt Ramsey, delete this video
No Morgan Turner?? This list is terrible
Hold up.. you said gospel 🤔nah. They sound more like WORLDLY musicians who played for the same WORLDLY artist.. nothing gospel......
Where’s Abe laboriel?
Why is he recording for EWF ? Don't they have a bass player
