Very likely the cause. Just wondering, have you ever used or researched Fly Predators for fly control? I am thinking about trying them next spring. Flies have been terrible this year and we had several cases of pinkeye also.
I personally have never tried the fly predator but know a farmer that does and it seems to work great. My problem with that is the price, if you go by their method they want you to release several batches each year. I can't remember the price they gave me when I checked into it but it was insane for fly control. Since I custom graze other farmers livestock, I'd have to put that expense on them. I can not justify it since this is my first case of pink eye here in 4 years. Though I do really like the idea of not seeing the horn flies, I am search for other methods of fly control for next year. Good luck.
Coyld have been something simple as a seed from the weeds or a weed hit her in the eye to cause the pink eye just treat and keep on doing what your doing
I think this would be of great help to you www.truehealth.co.nz/uploads/1/0/9/4/10943455/natural_treatments_for_calves_by_dr_p.dettloff.pdf. Good luck!
+Grazing Acres Farm We have used the Aloe drench and added Tumeric, Cayenne, Garlic, Apple Cider Vinegar and Molasses and it seems to have cleared up the issue for the most part. But he still has a little Diarrhea, but he is perky, ears are up, eyes aren't sucken in, he isn't staggering or laying down a lot. Right now we are using Aloe juice with eggs and Apple Cider Vinegar until it clears up completely. Please let me know what you think and if we should try anything else. Thank you Sir.
We use Redmans cattle conditioner and mix kelp in year round. When pink eye comes it usually gone within a week.
Good to know. I will have to put that on the list to get. Thanks

Do you have any Organic/Natural/Chemical free/Non-GMO suggestions to treat a calf (1 week old) with scours?

I would just continue as your doing until it's not needed. It sounds like it's working well.
