    Black women with thick hair ..10 to 12 inches or long, be sure to buy two. One will NOT be enough. One only got the back two sections done on my hair

    I just did my hair today with Madison Reed and I LOVE it! My hair has NEVER been this soft and shiny with any other home hair dye. I did the roots first because I have so much gray and because my real color is so dark. I like the brush method and might have to do that next time. I think I'm a lifelong Madison Reed fan! Another thing that is so important to point out, there's NO AWFUL HAIRDYE ODOR! The dye itself smells good, and the shampoo and rinse is wonderful! I LOVE the scent of the shampoo and conditioner and plan to pick up full size bottle on payday. Incidentally, I have LONG hair and I only needed a QUARTER SIZED DOLLOP for my whole head of the shampoo! That I find amazing because I usually use way more than that with regular shampoo. The conditioner is VERY concentrated and I only used about the same amount with that too. I was concerned that I might need a spritz of my leave in conditioner because my hair tends to be flyaway, but I didn't . It LOOKS pretty, feels soft and manageable, and smells good. What more could a woman ask for! Thanks Madison Reed!!!

    Thank you for the great video. I just got my Madison Reed hair color and was disappointed in that there were NO instructions!!! Also, I only got one pair of gloves. I hope the color itself is a more positive experience! Wish me luck.

    I love Madison Reed. I’m using during the Covid19 outbreak and it’s keeping my hair and spirits up!

    Great tutorial, but I’m not sure why the stylist thinks it’s so difficult to use the bowl and brush. I found it easier and got better coverage using the bowl and brush.

      I've only ever used a bowl and brush to cover EVERY white hair!!! 😉

      @@lavender3082, yes, at some point early on, the stylist suggests that using the bottle is easier. 🤷🏻‍♀️. I guess different things work for different people. Personally, I love the bowl and brush method as I seem to get much better coverage when I use it.

    I colored my hair last night, but didn't have enough. Color to go around. I could have used another quarter to a half of tube of color, plus my hair doesn't feel so soft. Good tutorial, although I think that so much of the product is used on the roots, other's like me could end up having the scrap the bowl to finish the remainder of the hair.

      +Madison Reed LLB Thanks for your response. I may do that but to be honest, I'm afraid of double processing my hair so I'll just leave it as is.

      I don't understand why she is doing the roots first. The roots process faster so you have a good chance of getting hot roots by doing them first.

  • @lilydehghan2272
    @lilydehghan2272 9 лет назад +17

    I'm not questioning your method but as far as I know it's better to apply the colour on roots at the last stage, as the scalp has got heat and this would speed the process of developing on the roots.

    • @crystalfarmer4074
      @crystalfarmer4074 2 года назад +1

      Thats what I said to. I have always been taught do roots last to prevent hot roots because they process faster.

    • @Killajo24
      @Killajo24 25 дней назад

      I was just thinking that my hairstylist always finish with the roots because of the heat on your scalp. They always start an inch or a little less from the roots to prevent that color from over processing

    I've been using box color to cover my grays, but have stopped and thought I'd embrace getting gray. Started using clarifying shampoo to wash out some of the color. Seeing all the gray is driving me nuts, and want to cover them. I learned that I should put the color on the ends first, then put the color on the gray/ new growth, because the previous colored parts need more time to absorb the color, then do the roots last; this way, the color should be more even all over. It seems so difficult to do it in a completely different way than I'm used to, think a bowl & brush would be easier. Would you have any tips to offer so I can successfully do this at home myself?

    Is this hair color permanent or semi-permanent?? Right now, I'm using the Loreal Preference in medium brown. I love it!! It feels great!! Very soft and very shiny. I touch up the roots, every two to three weeks. I love the gloves that come with the kit. They're great!! So is the conditioner. It's excellent!! It smells great, too!! Maybe, next time I will try Madison Reed, since I haven't tried them yet. 😊

      Hi Beautiful! Our "Extra tube" options comes with one double sized activator so there is no need to order extra activator since the "extra tube" option already includes the extra activator. 😉

    The master colorist gave good tips but I would have liked to see the girl in this video do her hair herself so we can truly see someone doing it at home and not a professional stylist doing it for her.
