Great lesson! I'm glad I found you guys. You break the song down really well. I appreciate showing the walk downs and sneaking in a bit of theory. I have been playing guitar for almost a year and this feels like the lesson that will help me on to the next step...
Instead of staying on the E chord in verse 1 and 2, I've always heard and played E for 1 measure and Emaj7 for 1 measure. Same with verse 3, G and Gmaj7 1 measure each. That's what I hear in the melody. This is a great lesson.

David dude this is a great lesson ! I've loved this song since 1977 when it came out and playing it now as a fairly newbie with about 3 years playing time is fantastic ,I had previously learned this song from another good tutorial but this is like icing on the cake ,love your lessons man.

Strumming pattern sounds a little like ---George Harrison's "My Sweet Lord"would that be a cool way to remember the strum? IMO that's what I'm almost hearing when you do that pattern!!! Thank You for sharing , and keep on "PLUCKIN"...Peace & Cheers....

+LagunaPalms Hi - if you are totally happy with that guitar and it sounds best to your ears and feels best in your hands and you feel its in your budget and you did your due diligence then for sure go for it. Its a very personal decision - I always tell my students to play as many guitars as you can possibly get your hands on before your purchase. Try as many as possible and see what feels best in your hands and against your body and fits you best as well as sounds the best to your ears. Many retail shops allow you to try the guitar for a period of time in which you can take it home and bring it back if you decide its not quite right. I think guitar center gives you 30 days to try it out. Hope that helps.
