I installed a fire sprinkler system in my new home. Did the insurance company discount my insurance premiums? Nope, not one cent. I went ahead and installed the system anyways, entirely designed and built myself. It did require a lot of research but was inexpensive to assemble. I hope one day the Building Code catches up. I'm in British Columbia, Canada.

The three types of sprinklers are pendent, sidewall, and upright.
Any of them can be concealed, recessed, or standard.
Just a minor mistake in the video around the 6 minute mark

Unfortunately the water supply hiccup in most of the country is the use of 5/8" meters and pressure reducing valves being immediately after the meter. A huge hidden cost to retrofit would be having the purveyor install a 1" meter (also leading to higher service costs with most companies) and moving the PRV inside the home after the sprinkler riser.
