I've always regarded the frequencies from 13000 to 14000 kHz as an HF spectral wasteland. Sometimes one of China's National Radio broadcasts would pop up very strongly but I get sporadic broad spectrum EMI from 13-15 kHz at my QTH, making hunting for utility stations a frustrating affair. If you have a smartphone or tablet with a broadband connection with you, you could look up the EiBi databases which may identify the signal that you find on your morning scans. 🙂

Yep I use eibispace at home, but I record with my phone, so it would be hard to look up freqs on the phone while recording. Sometimes I hear some utilities in the 13000kHz band, so it does have some stuff.
