- Here is a video of me testing my friend Brandon Bagleys newly acquired BC Rich Mockingbird. I'm playing Crossroads (Clapton), Hidaway (Freddy King)and Driving South (Hendrix)to get a feel for the Mockingbird on blues rock tunes, and it cranks out some great blues rock. We all know it's a great hard rock guitar, but it is able to do way more that that! This one is a neck-thru NJ series. It may be Japanese made or Korean. Don't know, don;t care, it's just a great guitar!

amazing blues and rock licks damn,...
nice playing dude. :-)
Finally, an EXCITING blues player on youtube!
Yeah, and it's because he's hearing himself from the outside so he relizes he must do the whole package with rhythm and lead for people to be able to hear the music, as opposed to those who only hear their playing from within themselves and does a five minute guitar solo thinking "damn, I'm smooth!".
I love mine! Upgraded with EMG's...89/81. Works for any style. Mine is a 2007 NJ Classic...made in China(I understand that they originally had a "Made in China" sticker on the back of the headstock...mine has been removed) . Say what you will, until you play one, you don't know how well they were made. Mine feels right, sweet tone(even unplugged), stays in tune and sustains as long as I need it to! I tried it out because I loved the finish. I bought it because I loved the way it played. NJ Classics were also made in Korea. From what I've researched, the Chinese serial# is at the top of the back of the headstock and read with the guitar standing with the neck straight up, and the Korean ones have the serial# between the tuning pegs read with the guitar in playing position, and says "Crafted in Korea" under it. Mine does not say "NJ Classic" under the BC Rich script logo and I have had spent a lot of time researching to verify exactly what model I have, as mine also has two thin dark stringers running up the back side of the necks like the "Exotic Classic". That is the reason for me posting under this video. I found this video while doing my research. Enjoying your playing was an added treat, my friend! Nicely done!
You know, when I first saw this guitar's design, I figured it looks too rock n' roll to not look weird playing straight up blues licks on. Now I watch this video and GLADLY see that I'm wrong!
Blues On!
man you rock!
hi! can you please tell me which pickups are those because it sounds great
Nice playing. It's a lovely playing guitar... And for the money it's one of the better deals around currently.
It's available at Thomann.
Thanks! I hope to get my hands on it soon and do an updated video plugged into a real amp instead of the crappy Fender 5 watt solid state I was playing through. Stay tunned!
John
hey man nice playing, i´ve got the same guitar but in red colour
what i would like to know if this guitar with stock pickups?
thanks
That exact guitar is at my local guitar store in rapid city, 600 dollar price tag tho... shame. Such a pretty instrument.
i love mine :D
Have to agree, John, the 5 watt Fender sounds terrible. But I'm buying one of the natural finish splated maple Mockingbird Exotic Classics when I get the funds. They're a beautiful instrument.
i got at the moment like 500bugs and i dont know if i should buy me a mockingbird or the ltd ec-256 ... sb got an idea?^^
I am looking at an old mid-early 70s Mockingbird USA BC Rich/ BC RICO model that may predate the official release in 1976. How does this one play compared to 1960s Gibson Slim taper neck stuff, or pre modern Fender B necks. It has a couple scars on it, but for its age its in VG cond. The songs you are playing and from your looks I assume you too remember when a 1963 fender Tele was just a used guitar and not some rich jerks collectors item stuck in a glass case.
why not order one online?
Nice
Its an Korean guitar, neck thru,Mahogany body.
And you can find it for 399$ new.Great guitar for the price
is this a custom paintjob?
OMG! Elvis is alive! :o
We need to get together sometime and jam! I've got a pretty nice les Paul now as well, you'll have to try it out!
Sounds good! Lets do it!
I have one of the Exotic Classic models....neckthru with a spalted maple top and Rockfeidl Mafia p'ups. Made in Korea but a lovely a guitar. And Korean guitars have been around a lot longer than some other places. I saw a price tag of almost $2K Aussie dollars on an Ibanez Iceman the other day and it had a "Manufactured in Indonesia" decal on the back of the headstock! No thanks!
omg christopher reeve on guitar
Nope. Standard for that model. And it is sweet. Wish I owned it.
Crossroads
wow calm down, just making a suggestion, personally i wouldn't care what your parents say since your gonna be the one playing it
