    "A genealogist took commentator Tomi Lahren to task on Twitter after she made controversial comments about immigrants in this country. And she did so with Lahren’s own family history.
    On Saturday, Lahren went on Fox News’ “Watters’ World” to defend White House chief of staff John Kelly’s remarks on immigrants. Kelly, formerly Trump’s homeland security secretary, told NPR last week that undocumented immigrants are “not people that would easily assimilate into the United States into our modern society.”
    Lahren went even further and told host Jesse Watters that people who don’t speak English or who come from poverty shouldn’t be allowed to immigrate to the United States.
    “These people need to understand that it’s a privilege to be an American and it’s a privilege that you work toward. It’s not a right. You don’t just come into this country with low skills, low education, not understanding the language and come into our country because someone says it makes them feel nice,” she said."

My father spent 15 years and $14,000 dollars to be rejected twice and then was allowed to be a resident of the USA. Not a citizen. The process is jacked up.

    • @khatack
      @khatack 5 лет назад

      Immigration is not a universal human right. A society that doesn't protect and enforce its borders will die, that's just simple causality. Not everyone can be accepted as a citizen, but a pampered little snowflake like you probably won't get that until its too late. You remind me of that couple who went bike-riding in Africa to prove that people aren't evil and it's just the bigoted ignorant western people who don't understand their culture. For their trouble, they got treated like shit by the locals until a group of Muslims ran them over with a car and killed them. Those young men who eventually killed them wanted to prove their worth and join ISIS, which they then did.

    • @allengaytan9400
      @allengaytan9400 5 лет назад +2

      A pampered little snowflake is not what I would describe my self first of all. Its just a way for people like you to describe anyone that disagrees with what ever your views are. I have worked many years to pull my way out of a life you probably couldn't thrive in. I do believe there are evil people in this world. I've seen first hand. People like you scream that illegals need to come over the right way but the right way is a long and expensive road to travel. I know French immigrants that came over from Canada with less issues than a Mexican immigrants.

    • @allengaytan9400
      @allengaytan9400 5 лет назад +1

      The French Canadians came here for the same reasons that Mexican immigrants do, for work. Every time my father was rejected, he had to return to Mexico to restart the whole process again. Some months or even years would go by before me and my siblings would see him again. So what is the right way to see this issue?

    A couple more things to add:
    To many, especially liberals, immigration is largely a humanitarian topic. However, some conservatives treat it like a purely economical topic.
    It's also ironic how so many conservatives claim that poverty in America is due to character instead of financial environment, but at the same time they claim that bringing in people from poor countries will just mean more poor people in America.

      @RichsMusic The people that are currently immigrating on the American Continent are Mestizos (European and Native American) and actually majority Native American. They have the absolute right to travel without restrictions throughout this Entire American Continent but yet we have created "laws" and by we I mean Europeans on foreign lands pretending like these lands are ours. Our ancestors stole these lands by gun powder and trickery and that doesn't mean we obtained them in a fair and square way. Imagine someone comes into your house and removes you at gun point and says you have to go live out in the backyard and to add insult to injury you then have to ask permission to travel through the side of the house just to get to the street.

It's as if no one remembers learning World History and seeing pictures of maps throughout the time and seeing brand new Empires, or seeing existing ones change in shape and size all the time. Weird, wonder how that happened.
      But that's beside the point. You clearly are a mindless sheep who doesn't even know what you're saying. The phrase doesn't even make any logical sense. The land could be stolen, floating, on fire, whatever, and people who ILLEGALLY go onto that land would still be illegal, considering the ones in control of the land deemed them so.

    The three main ironies of Lahren's position on immigration being pointed out here are;
    1. If her ancestors were held to the same standards that she is advocating for today, they wouldn't have been able to enter the U.S. and she herself would not be an American.
    2. The very people Lahren is singling out to be denied immigration because they'll be a drain on the nation - the poor, the low skilled, the non-English speaking - are the very people that for generations have built the U.S. into the nation it is today.
    3. People like Lahren often proclaim themselves to be "true Americans" and "patriots," yet they take positions as she has here that run contrary to the ideals established by the founding fathers, that ignore writings meant to represent the morality and humanity of the nation such as those expressed on the Statue of Liberty, and even push views and policies that go against the Constitution.
    This is for many a moron in the comment section that have seemingly missed these ironies.

      Joshua d'Estoville, are you really suggesting that a foreign nation is using immigration to enter the U.S. for the purposes of taking over or stealing resources?
      Greg, I didn't argue that she wasn't for legal immigration. Lahren said she is in favour of "merit based immigration." So yes, she is for legal immigration...provided those wishing to migrate aren't poor, low skilled, or unable to speak English. These aren't my assumptions, this is exactly what Lahren said.

    • @LostChildOfTime
      @LostChildOfTime 6 лет назад +2

      Sure they are for legal immigration.... if you're white.

    • @TrentRidley
      @TrentRidley 6 лет назад +2

      Exactly Poison Kiss, Lahren's position on immigration is nothing more than thinly veiled racism.
      For those that disagree at least ask yourself, if the U.S. demands that immigrants be wealthy, skilled, and English speakers who is likely to be excluded?....Will it be whites from affluent nations with high levels of education and training such as Canada, England, France, Australia, New Zealand, etc?....Or will it predominantly be brown and black people from such regions of the world as South and Central America, Africa, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East?
      The far right fear nothing more than becoming a minority. Why is that?....Could it be that despite all of their rhetoric about racism and other forms of bigotry being a thing of the past, they deep down know that minorities still suffer systemic disadvantage right across the U.S?

Instead of poking fun at each other, why don't you address her points directly? She is against illegal immigration and believes in merit-based immigration. What's wrong with that? You do have a problem with illegal immigration, don't pretend it's not real. When you pretend it's not an issue, when you don't address it properly, the problems do not go away. And as these problems stack up, guess what, your average Americans will start blaming whatever social issues there are on the immigrants. This is why you have Trump now. So if you don't like what the right side is saying, then offer a better solution. Pretending that there's no problem will get you Trump again 2020. And that will be on you Dems.

      I am British, they are all legal. You can't work at my company and be illegal. There are processes. Quite a few of them have one major or two. If your saying the argument is is about illegal immigration and that is what she talking about then there are other solutions and paths. She is is being patronising. What do you consider to be low skilled? Because there are many low skilled jobs. Low skilled does not mean academically backwards. Just as being Academically gifted does not mean your a better human being. I am not saying there should be no rules. I just think Trump is making people paranoid. Is stirs up his voting base. To many people are acting like sheep and portraying immigrants in the worst possible light. Its only for one reason. To win votes. The immigration debate is not a new argument. But whats new is the spate of people putting forward irrational arguments like her. So as the commentator suggests she is being hypocritical as she often is, why would you defend her? So there are two things going on here. The broader immigration issue and her attention seeking.

    If immigrants had money, assets, and remarkable skills acquired from their home country, then why would they even want to relocate to America? The argument that they don't have skills or anything else to offer America and that's why they're not wanted here is ridiculous.

    • @mattutgetcare
      @mattutgetcare 5 лет назад +1

      It isn't ridiculous. The US offers the least regulated and freest forum to innovate. There is a reason that the highest achievers tend to come to the US to fulfill their vision.
      At some points in US history, immigration was needed to fill up the lands claimed. The need for more people to develop and utilize the land has long passed. Resources of all kinds are already scarce. Additional population will further erode the standard of living. High achievers have the potential to improve the standard of living far greater than their impact.
      I don't subscribe to any political party, but the most important issue facing humanity (and it informs upon ALL the others) is the earth itself. The developed world should focus policy on reductions in consumption, the developing world should focus policy on reducing population growth.
      Nothing about allowing large populations of unskilled labor from the developing world benefits the host country.
      A better use of time would be to engage in causes that make those living in the developing world more prosperous. Organizations like KIva offer legitimate services to this end.

    • @YourRealDaddy
      @YourRealDaddy 5 лет назад +1

      Frunk I totally agree with your view on world resources and how we need to focus on making everything more sustainable. But my point is that intelligence differs from achievements. If you come from a country that has no opportunity then how can you be a "high achiever"? The plaque at the base of Lady Liberty says nothing about what you've accomplished will determine your ability to be integrated or accepted in America. However, again I do agree with your statement that we can't just take everyone due to limited space and resources. That is the gray area of everything we are dealing with here.

      LMAO by going after tommis ancestors? BTW, the only thing she proved by getting the info on tommis relatives is that they came into the country legally (because there was documentation) Atleast her ancestors respected the american law and didnt sneak accross the border. They werent part of MS 13

    Tomi Lahren: Our country isn't based on people coming here because it's nice. They don't speak the language, they are not educated .........
    you know her shit.
    But how about that: This is exactly what America was based upon. People who didn't speak the language came there, overtook everything, destroyed countless cultures (ignorant of cultures and the natives' ways, meaning they were the uneducated ones) and forced their way of living on the people that already lived there.
    Can we also talk about how most americans don't speak a second language properly either? Like, darling, I speak 3 languages fluently and know the basics of two others, just from school. If you came to my country, you wouldn't be able to communiate either

      @Kyle Rhein How can you so completely miss what I said? I would say I made it fairly clear that I was not talking about how most of Americas systems are based on racism (even though they are and it's still notably ingrained) but how the settlers came to the US. I was talking about how not everyone spoke english or immediately adapted the culture (quite the opposite come to think of it since they brutally took over the land and forced native people to bow to their culture but whatever, right). I was specifically not talking about legal or illegal, I didn't even use that when referncing her points. Did you really not get that?

    • @zanderhamilton7908
      @zanderhamilton7908 5 лет назад

      It doesn't, but the thing is that most people in the U.S. speak English with the 2nd most spoken language in the U.S. being Spanish. It's hard to communicate with others around you if you don't speak the common language.

    • @lillianperry9120
      @lillianperry9120 5 лет назад

      Kasterborous that is true but the majority of people who don’t speak English or Spanish when they enter the USA usually stay in their own communities. It may be difficult for them, but it must seem like a better option than staying in a country which is trying to kill their own people

      Myself I am doing fine. So far I thought I have schizophrenia twice, but after doing some tests, concluded that there's nothing wrong with my logic. During the second test I had some technically difficulties: in the middle of it some basic concepts of reality were redefined here and there on the internet, so I was stuck, but then got tired and fell asleep. The next morning I watched the news again and the concepts from the day before got redefined again - I still need to have check if they got redefined into something completely new or back to the previous form... but maybe I will get lucky.

    • @elliotsmith9930

      The real issue isn't flooding the market, but the socialist system. If it were a truly free market, there wouldn't be any issues, but the reality is that the regulations put on by the government makes it impossible to sustain with the current population, let alone immigrants on the lower end of the spectrum. If there were no minimum wage or social benefits, having no borders would have little to no impact because people wouldn't immigrate to America (or even if they did they would get paid less due to certain skills they may lack, like being fluent in English), but having so many benefits, which illegal immigrants are entitled to & have previously filed lawsuits for not being provided minimum wage or other rights provided, makes it worth while to immigrate even getting a job (yes they still get food stamps, welfare, healthcare, free educations, etc) or getting a job that pays better than they would in a free market system due to the floor set by minimum wage. (In all honesty, do you think flipping a burger or cleaning the bathroom is worth $15/hr. A pharmacy technician at CVS who has to pass an exam, know a list of drugs, be able to communicate with patient, etc only gets $16-18/hr; you can't be in your right mind to say the difference in skill level is only worth $1/hr.)

    They don't speak the language?, what language. America is filled with so much diversity that there is no specific language required to be proficient at honestly. for example, I don't see you bothering to ask foreign restaurant owners how "highly skilled" they are before ordering your meal like I just don't get it.

      By that same logic, you and all your descendants should stick to just one house 10 generations down the line. Wars & exchanges occur which shifts ownership, power, and other resources. This is generally the way of life. My parents owned a house and decided to sell it, which shifted ownership. Another person may have lost their house due to an inability to pay the mortgage. These are some situations in which ownership changes hands. Governments also have exchanges, whether more peaceful or violent. It's a sad comparison, but you could think of the land like a woman. You may be dating her, but that doesn't mean you have rights to her forever (another guy can swoop in and win her from you or she may decide to leave you herself).
