Fr i have 5 months but like 20+ crochet presents to get to 😭 and I’m a beginner crocheter so I have to learn their presents all for the first time lmao.

For starters your bucket hat is beautiful! Especially considering that working with this kind of fluffy yarn is a nightmare for seeing your stitches. Over the years, I've picked up a few things that make it easier. Obviously, these aren't necessary but if you are struggling these might help.
1) Stitch markers on increase stitches, even just a scrap of yarn (contrasting) will do the trick.
2) Double your yarn by adding a non-fluffy yarn. A contrasting yarn will make the stitches most visible, but a matching yarn will work it's just not as obvious.
3) This one only really works on one side but if you wanted a fleecy lining or a way to thicken a lighter piece this works well. Crochet or knit your item first then slipstitch the fluffy yarn to the item. Alternatively, to have it showing on both sides weave in the fluffy yarn using a blunt needle.
Hopefully this is of use to someone.
Something I found that worked well if you are using a dark or textured yarn like a boucle, is laying a contrasting fabric, like a tea towel, across your lap so you can see your stitches against it.

Left handed! I am, too! But . . . It looks so odd after learning to crochet from my right-handed g-mother. Love it.

The bucket hat probably became so much bigger than the original cause of the yarn used 🤔 cause it seems different in the project. But I love that hat is so cute 😍 I feel like it came cuter that way

you should get a yarn bowl 😂 it holds your yarn and has a hole on the side so you can keep crocheting without having to stop to pull the yarn
