I don't know if there was a problem with James' in-ear monitors not working or if it's just a matter of him being the latest victim of old timer vocal chords (like Geddy Lee during the last few Rush tours). It's just painful to hear a lead singer that out of tune with the rest of the band.
One of the most important gigs for the band in a decade. Probably took extra time to get everything correct for the night. Long sound check probably. Everything double checked and triple checked. And then JLB's in ears don't work? I don't think so. And everyone else is using in ears and seem to be having no problem.Just James. No
It will tighten up as the tour continues. Portnoy put the setlist together and a lot of these songs they haven't played in a decade or more. As for the vocals, they need to bring that volume down so it's not overpowering everything and find a harmony he can sing for those high notes instead of straining.
It sounded nowhere near as bad in person, I thought he sounded amazing on Sunday then I get home and see people complaining about the vocals and yeah it sounds a lot worse through these clips. When you're at the show it sounds fine.
Sounds to me that James can't remember the lyrics?

James.. 😢
in songs like this I think they better play the hole song on a lower tune that allows JL sings properly otherwise its just embarrasing
bad enough they already play the song slow
I Love DT but wouldnt pay to listen to that
