- Syllable types are a big part of Orton Gillingham teaching. Syllable types lead to syllable division, and syllable division leads to reading fluency.
This video explains the REVLOC system of syllable types, the teaching order of syllable types, how to introduce the concept of syllables, and strategies for teaching closed syllables.

Thank you for your videos. I’m thinking that if I keep watching I might be able to understand how English works.
Thank you for letting me know they help!
Thank you so much 💕
Hi young lady. I have and sometime that may works in your training. I call it the 7up rule. It’s a visual aid for the open vowel at the end a syllable. The top of 7 identifies it as long and the leg splits the syllable. This idea that comes from the US Navy 1976 O.G. Reading class 1976. You are doing a great job, have a go day. Gorgeous
That sounds interesting! Thank you.
Good stuff!
Thank you!
Orton is spelled wrong on the title page of your video. Thanks for these videos.
Thank you!
Hi,
Can you please share with me if this program is online for adult learners?
Hi Wanda, I'm not sure if there is a specific program for adult learners. You could take a class from someone like, dyslexiaresource.org/
This is a teacher/parent/tutor training, but it will also teach you phonics.
You could also get my workbooks and go through the exercises in the books. Link: ogforall.com/workbook-worksheets-store/
