      James Batts it’s all a crap shoot. Look underneath and all around the motor / trans for leaks. Those will hit you on the road (DOT) and it’s a warning sign. If it’s clean in general not just for sale clean, means they took care of it. I would offer less if you can, 9-10k leaves you room if something bad happens.

    Hey buddy l just have a question!
    Does the harmonic balancer can go bad?
    If yes. For what reason??
    And if it gos bad can make a vibration on the truck??

    • @MakeCentsTrucking
      @MakeCentsTrucking  2 года назад

      Yes and yea! They get hardened up with age. Could also be tires. Try this, with truck parked and at idle, stuck a half gal of water on valve cover. It should be pretty smooth. If it looks really rough it’s prob the balancer and maybe a over hear needed.
      If it’s pretty smooth, then I’d check tires and driveline bearings

    • @michaelwright1602
      @michaelwright1602 Год назад

      Cummins recommends replacing the vibration damper every 500,000 miles. There is a viscous fluid inside of the balancer, no way to really test. Once that fluid hardens, there is a possibility of it coming apart. It is rare, but does happen. Also, when replacing, the damper needs to be painted, no paint, no warranty. And it is difficult to read the timing marks on a painted damper, a rusted up one, forget it, so paint it. And your accessories and pulleys will thank you, a bad damper has a tendency of popping belts.

      @Lbc2707 if you know where to purchase the correct harnesses and if they have them in stock that's probably the hardest part if not you need to make your own which isn't hard at all just takes alot a time and you gotta go very slow cause if you mess up it's a sob to figure out

    That’s ole Haggai Diesel in Griffin GA. Done made the big time. Jerry is a jam up dude and like you said Allison knows here stuff. I had a W9 with CM2350 and kept blowing injectors and that’s who worked on that truck for me. I enjoyed going there to cut up with them but it also meant I was spending money haha. Needless to say I had that truck about 4 months and sold it. I hated that ISX. Always been a mechanical cat guy myself Ive got three trucks with the 3406 B and 2 with a 12.7 Detroit. I will say for the price and reliability you can be the old pre emissions Detroit. But keep up what you doing man love the videos, from a fellow Georgia boy... come on beeeek
