I made a recipe for lembas that is more similar to hardtack. The goal was a survival bread that would provide total nutrition. I used the flour water and salt found in typical hardtack recipes, but I also added bone broth powder (for protein and minerals, coconut oil (for fat), nutritional yeast and some crushed up whole food multivitamins (for vitamins), and honey (for extra energy and flavor). One batch makes between 9 and 12, depending on how big or thick you make them, and one person would need to eat a whole batch per day to get a full 2,000 calories with all the necessary nutrients for survival. Flavor wise, the honey is the chief flavoring agent. Texture wise, it is similar to a dog biscuit or a hard cookie (like biscoff).
