Setting Up Holley Transfer Slots

- In this video I go over how I setup transfer slots in my Holley Carburetor. This is just the way I do it, doesn't mean you have to also. I have had good luck setting them up this way though. I hope you enjoy! Please like and subscribe!
I haven't given those slots a second look since the 70's. I learned something new today. We used to change the springs in the distributor to get the points plate to zero out. I never thought about the plate maxing out the other way after putting a stronger or weaker spring in. I'd say fuel injection is easier but there's probably more trail and error in that too.
Never had a holley carb, but thanks for the info!👍
Great video - good explanation of the importance of a properly set transfer slot!
Its also good to add info about the secondary throttle blade adjustment screw for some applications.
My car wont idle high enough due to the cam / torque converter being on the tighter side - so it requires that little bit more air at idle. This is where people typically drill holes in their primaries to get the transfer slot back to where it should be; but a much better first go at adjusting would be on the secondaries before making modifications to the carb :)
Cheers!
I noticed your Park City, Utah shirt. Park City is not far from me and is a cool place to visit. I have been fighting a dead spot on my Mustang. Blaming the single plane intake and big cam for causing the "off Idle dead spot!" I will try the vacuum gauge trick to see if that would help. Thanks for the great tip!
@@toolchanic4285 Yeah, I got that shirt at goodwill😂 I live in Indiana. I hope you get it figured out!
