Thanks for sharing. I was also one of the first ones to buy the Hudson sharpener and I just unboxed it and I noticed that it was putting an angle on the blade like you said. I cut if off and then the motor would not come back on. It just did not look right. I just got my replacement motor from Hudson today and Im going to move my tractor forward like you did and see how it does. Im looking forward to getting more use out of my blades. I probably have over 30 blades that I need to sharpen. This makes sense and I can’t wait to try it our. Again, Thank you for sharing 😊

After moving the track, I found sharpening the blade, run it backwards in the track while sharpening it. Left to right. The sharpener puts a razor edge on the blade.

Thanks for the vid and glad I did. You stated your blade guide was too far back, mine came in and it looked like it is too far forward. ONce I get it up and running I will be keeping and eye out for any potential problem and luckily i have no problem adjusting the track. But as much as we paid for these things they should almost be self running. I already found some discrepancies with the casting of frame. Those Chinese like to leave rough edges. Reminds me of Harbor freight stuff. Anyways. thanks again and have a good New Year. LOL, i noticed your blade guides right when you said something about them. Ive heard they are pretty good. Was it too difficult to modify/adapt? I have a Rima 31 and besides small differences it the same as the Hudson. Again, thanks

When the wheel contact's the blade, the blade should be directly under the bolt that holds the wheel on. I looked at one of Their sharpeners at a wood show and it looks like they moved the guide forward. Once it hits the blade straight it does a great job.

@@Twobrothersoutdoors looks like I will be doing the same as you did, cutting and rewelding. I thought it looked strange when I assembled it. Oh well. 30 minute job then repaint. Thanks

@@Twobrothersoutdoors Got mine up and running after rewelding. Mine was the same as yours, too far back. Another question. I have the same wheel as you, what is the angle you have yours set at and does the wheel come in FULL contact with the blade, front face, gullet and back face? Thanks in advance. Opps, re watched the vid to see if you had a close up and you explained what I asked.. THanks, I have mine at about 75 degrees. Will adjust it so that that wheel comes in FULL contact. May have to go back and resharpen a couple of blades. Glad I didnt do the ALL yet..

@@cferguson6688 mine is just shy of 60*, maybe 58-59. Fit it to your gullet. For best results move your blade backwards as you sharpen. Works better

Did you buy the premium full contour grinding stone to go with the sharpener?
