That's what happened at Fluke, and then Flir had to compete and copied them. Except Flir looks like they made a better meter as it does more, and has a better imager. Only difference is Fluke's capable of Cat IV safety and has a bigger screen.... Flir really stepped it up on this one!
I'm buying the 285 model saving up now .
Are the specs on this meter to the level of the Flir one pro or C2? I'm a plumber and HVAC Tech and wonder if this would be great combination tool

FLIR Systems can you buy regular rechargeable batterys and use them without them acting up or is there other options besides the double aa batteries to buy.
DJ Doesnttapout I've had this meter for a little while now.. The TA04 battery is pricey as all get out- but it's so much less hassle.. It lasts a really long time, and it fully charges in a few hours..
@@Flir i notice that the dm284 is advertised 160x120 which contradicts this comment. can you clarify this for me.

My Flir DM284 is longer powering on. I can't understand. The batteries haven't leaked or anything. It's now a useless block in my backpack.
