OMG, I’m thinking is she going to cook some Puerto Rican soul food?! She’s getting some Goya Recaito (a/k/a sofrito) and she’s pointing to the Goya Sazón so yes, she is! You cannot cook traditional ‘Rican food without those two items. That’s the base to practically every dish in Puerto Rican cuisine. Whoever taught you to make beans that way, taught you well. I’m Puerto Rican and I live in Miami and I wish we had a Cardenas supermarket here. Great market. We have various markets that cater to Latinos but wow, nothing like Cardenas.

Yes the recaito and Sazon is a Puerto Rican seasoning preference. We usually make the Recao or recaito from scratch, as well as the sofrito and sometimes we buy Goya recaito jar for convenience.

Yes that Saxon dish is a Puerto Rican specialty and in your grocery store there's an aisle dedicated to Goya products and that jar stuff in in that aisle
We have an aisle with all the Goya products... but none carry the Cilantro base besides this store =)

Please do a brandy taste test! We have a tiny small town version of Cardenas (no connection) where we live. If I lived near Cardenas I wouldn't shop anywhere else I think. Wow!

yellow rice, when cooking up ground beef ..Pretty much a lot of our dishes

That's a nice store. We don't have one here in New Orleans. We have a large Asian market that is very similar. We have a large Vietnamese community but our Spanish community is growing since Hurricane Katrina.

👋 PNF! Good haul, and I love love love Cardenas ❤️ I don't sleep on that grocery store. I've been shopping there for years. All of the items you bought were something that I would've gotten for my family and friends to enjoy. That store was very well stocked and organized 👏 and my favorite spot in the store is the section where I can choose to purchase the containers of the fresh fruit that's already cut up. That's a great idea to give to a loved one that's in the hospital 🏥 or at home when they're not feeling well. But anyway, I was in the front seat 💺 🤪 when you were on your way to the store. 😆 🤣 😂

i love their small corn tortillas for tacos at the back corner of the store ! tastes way better than the other brands (mission, guerrero, etc.) since they're made fresh everyday . i wish they'd open one in temecula so i can go more often . 😅
