#535d #deleted #F10
Hello, thank you for the videos.I just installed mine and removed the dpf and egr from the system. It sounds anf runs like a dream, and the best part no smoke or very little at full throttle with 200.000 km on the clock.
Do you still have the car? Did anything was affected? What should I watch out for?
sounds like a cummins.....LOVE IT. now i know what to do with my 535d. thanks for the vid. can you send me where you purchased your exhaust from?
It's an ATM downpipe, gutted SCR and muffler delete
Is the DPF completely empty or did you leave the DOC intact? Also how bad is the smell with the downpipe?
Completely straight pipe. Smells just like a straight piped diesel would smell
Thanks for showcasing both! That was a lot of effort. Sounds dope and can't wait to follow suite? How has the DUDMD tune been? I had his chip for my old E34 540i and it was wonderful.
It's been great! I have his stage 2 on both my F10 and my wife's F15, no complaints!
@@yellowshopbuilds Glad to hear it! I didn't see the stage 2 on his website...maybe that's for 'hitting potholes' only? I'll call him.
They are not offering the stage 2 any longer. I think the whole EPA thing is getting everybody a little skittish
which intake do you use? how did you do the installation? does noise matter?
God dang! Let’s put some exhaust stacks on this thing now 🤠
Hood exit? 😁
That smoke is too much.
Anyone know if you can get rid of the whistle sound you get with diesels? I think its turbo spool but i hate that whistle noise.
It wasn't all smoke. It was 30 degrees outside.
Keep a muffler if you don't want the good noises 🤷
@yellowshopbuilds I see, so some vapour. I have seen some people who have been able to map the engine so well that smoke is barely noticeable.
And yeah I like good noise, I just don't like the whistle sound. I like pure engine. I think a dpf delete with the other 2 cats intact would be good. Let's see. I'll post it on RUclips when I get it done .
Downpipe definitely slightly better sound compared to hollow dpf more grumbly, whilst hollow dpf more "airy" noise
I have a n57 with hollowed dpf it sounds trash
@@thepuberty9543 get downpipe sounds better
@@thepuberty9543 I have N57 Downpipe and straight piped, sounds real good
mine has a straight pipe apart from dpf.. when it does a regen it sounds really good.. is that what it would sound like all the time with the dpf gutted?
Not sure
No, i gutted mine it sounds more airy and like wind, under load and heavy throtle it sounds good but under normal driving its very bad, with a full 76-88mm echaust system and good quality donwpipe it sounds similar to dpf regen but still not as loud
Hey, When you installed the down pipe, what are the sensors did you keep from the dpf? I’m installing the same down pipe but wasn’t sure what sensor to keep. i have the 22mm O2 sensor but wasn’t sure about the which one of the 2 14mm sensors to install in the 2nd port. looks like one is a exhaust gas temperature sensor in the middle of the dpf and the other is a oxygen sensor located at the bottom. Thanks
Keep egt sensor
If I delete just my dpf and egr but leave my exhaust standard will I have all the turbo noise still? I want to do this but ideally avoid any extra noise
No you wont have any noise
Sounds sick
It's this for a BMW F11 535d (299PS)(219kw) Baujahr 2010 Model
?
F10 535d US spec
if you keep all the original exhaust and cut only the last muffler does the noise change a lot? or does an error message appear?
No error will appear if you remove the muffler. Not a big sound change
Hi, I too have the same problem of white smoke on cold start. do you know what it is due to? Thank you
That smoke was condensation
Hello, i installed to my f10 530d a downpipe today, but the cars smoke became very smelly. Yours too ? Do you try the car without dpf, just catality converter ?
If you delete the pieces that reduce smoke and smell, you will have smoke and smell..
C'est quoi une voiture un tracteur ??.
Mine has no smoke , 3.0 d 245 hp and now 382 big turbo but no smoke. The i jectors must be check or turbo or oil catcher is bad. Egr must be off
It was a cold start. Cold start always has smoke.
Also, it was about 30 degrees outside. Not all of that is smoke. The car had 20k miles when I did the deletes, injectors, turbo etc are all fine 👍
@@yellowshopbuilds if smoke on cold start check the heat plugs
Everything is fine
Nice sound man, what brand is the downpipe? Also can i ask what have you done to the exhaust because the sound is brutal!!
The exhaust is just straight piped with the downpipe and muffler delete
But what sizes are the pipes, and this is a single turbo 535d right?
US spec 535d, single turbo. Exhaust is: Downpipe, factory exhaust (gutted scr), muffler delete
Thanks
@@yellowshopbuilds what power does the US 535d have ? I take it it's just a 530d badges as 35d?
What has a better flow? I got mine dpf gutted, but a friend of mine told my that a gutted dpf can have a vortex effect inside. So i am thinking to install a downpipe fot better flow.
I'd assume a downpipe is better
If you install a down pipe. Are you required to do any sort of tune or delete of some sort? Will the check engine come on?
You need a tune or it will give a check engine light and no start in 200 miles message
Do you have to delete anything downstream of your Down pipe?
For stage 1 tune, no. For stage 2, yes
Can you please send a link to that downpipe!
Atmspeedshop.com
Did you HAVE to tune it right away after you installed the Downpipe and if u don’t will it go in limp mode or any issues
It'll run and drive fine but it will give you the no start in 200 miles warning
Do you think it’s smarter to get a tune first then the parts after or would the parts need to be in to tune for them
You can tune first, I just wouldn't rip on the car until the parts are out
My bad bro I j got my 2014 535d m sport n I j got hella questions.
Did u actually buy a straight pipe or gut most the exhaust and called it straight pipe.
If u do gut everything will you still need a tune
Yes even if you got them you are still taking out all the good stuff and you will need a tune. I cut out the SCR and weld it in just a piece of matching size straight pipe and then I bought a downpipe to replace the DPF. I also deleted the muffler. So in the end it was complete straight pipe
Which Open Air Intake is this ? Looks Good
Custom intake
re map with a JR Auto tune... shouldn't be smoking like this unless you really beat on it lol. Do you have any 0-60 numbers from this car? would love to compare with mine. Cheers
Well, cold start and straight piped. I think it would be weird if it didn't smoke 🤷♂️ No 0-60 but I was thinking I'd make another launch control video now that I have the tune.
@@yellowshopbuilds smoke is wasted fuel my friend. I watched your video strolling around from a while back... there was excessive smoke. If this is what you are going for, and it seems to be working for the car, by all means, do your thing. That being said I suggest you look into JR Auto tunes, I can guarantee your vehicle will run cleaner at the very least.
I get it, I've heard of JR and I've heard good things but I also like to support local and DUDMD is like 2.5 hrs from me. It only smokes a bit under cold start and very heavy throttle. I also get next to zero soot on my bumper. Does yours not smoke cold start? Straight pipe?
@@yellowshopbuilds Ive been running a full buzz ken straight pipe for over 4 years now, on two of my vehicles. one is over 330,000 miles, the other is over 200,000. Only time i get smoke is on startup the next day after ripping on the car.
Yeah I've got a 335d. It's tuned and also smokes in start up and if I get on it. That seems like the normal amount of smoke when your reving it.
How did you modify the DPF filter for higher throughput? I'd like to do the same for my 535D E60
Gut it
@@yellowshopbuilds :-)
@@yellowshopbuilds you think i can gut the dpf and the cat behind it?
🤷♂️
Does it always smoke that much?
I thought you can get cleaner remaps to work with no DPF?
Cold start it smokes a little, it was also about 35 degrees outside so that wasn't exactly all smoke
@@yellowshopbuilds any videos of what it’s like when warmed up and revved? Do you get much smoke on WOT?
You do get some smoke at wot, no smoke when idling or driving normal. I may put together a video answering some of these questions
@@yellowshopbuilds please do Pal. Im also curious about the amount of smoke on warm idle vs cols idle and other scenarios 😉
Can you make a video how you gut the SCR?
I don't feel that it is video worthy, also not the most legal. Just remove it, cut it open, remove the guts and weld it shut
this is not the 535, 525 n57 or 530 but not 535d
Lol it's a 535d. I don't live in Europe
Well done bud, you feel smart now for telling a car guy that his car is infact not what he thinks it is?😂😂
@@duktrilfromsouthafrica I live in Europe and my and every 535d looks different I didn't know the us version look like the 530 from Europe. 🤷♂️
I believe in the US the single turbo 530d is badged as a 535d.
can you go trough mot no problem ?
No
yes you can, I've passed MOT no problem with empty dpf and egr plugged. The emissions are so slack on these older diesels
Needs new turbos
Single turbo. 19k miles (at the time of this video) 36k now, turbo is fine
why does it smoke like that?
It's a straight pipe diesel...
@@yellowshopbuilds I know that, but there are also cars with straight pipe diesel that do not emit smoke, maybe you have problems with the turbo or injectors
25k miles on the car, no issues. It was a cold start as well as about 30 degrees outside
Can you please send the a link to that intake?
Intake is custom, nobody makes one for these diesels
@@yellowshopbuilds how did you customize it?
I just cut off the factory filter box and added a bigger aftermarket filter
@@yellowshopbuilds Can you make a video on that intake, or atleast send a photo? That turbo whistle sounds just beautiful, alooot better than the regular turbo that you hear on most diesels, to be honest, it whistles a bit like a petrol turbo engine
You get pretty much all of the whistle from the exhaust, you can only really hear the intake at full boost and it's just a suction sound
Is the muffler still on?
No
You have problems with injectors , in relanti is a lit of dmoke so bad injectors and you will tost the engine , repair the injectors
Injectors are fine
I got more smoke as well without DPFwith my 535d f11
too much smoke
Any codes?
Not with the tune, no.
@@yellowshopbuilds how much is the tune?
