YOU have brought me peace. I saw a newer video where you were talking about what you could do at day 59. Seeing you stretch I was filled with hope, * grabs robe closed with right hand, jumps up from sofa, thrusts right fist to sky, whole body screaming ,YES!* and knew that if I do the work I will be able dance how I want to. I am gonna follow your Jazz warm up and live like I want. I dance all around my house. My mom was from News Orleans so I grew up with music and dancing. At 67, I can touch my toe to my forehead. I am Black and I try to keep up with the young folks' dances. I sit on the floor a lot and I can get up easily. I am the only one of my friends that has never had a back problem. My goal is now, (before my knee betrayed me) was to be able to squat like an person from Vietnam or China and hang out down there...comfortably. Last night my friend told me that I probably won't be a flexible after the knee replacement. So I have been very upset. Also the physical therapist said that he personally had never seen a patient after surgery that could do that. He was not sure that the knee replacement was built to do that. So inside I have been freaking out....and dancing a lot. Thank you so much for sharing this journey. I now can get this operation without so much apprehension. Can't thank you enough.
Thanks, I wish you well on your journey of healing. I have to say, though, that I've had my pitfalls on my journey. I'm still not back to a normal knee yet. But I keep working on it. I have another operation coming up in March. Maybe by summer time it will be working good. I hope so!
That bruising is very disturbing but glad you are not in much pain. Two friends of mine had both knees done at the same time ..... I cannot imagine!! But, they did well with it. Praying you recover quickly ...... God bless
Thanks, Shirley. I've been reading about the bruises and it seems to be expected since it's such an invasive surgery. It's supposed to dissipate after 2 weeks.
Curious..I am 12 weeks post-op. I've returned to Dancers Stretch taught at Dance101 in Atlanta. Plies are coming along, and I can get to a good deep bend, but I can't do a childs pose, or pigeon on the post-op side. You are farther along. Have you been able to get there yet? Do let me know. Thanks
Unfortunately I’m still having issues with flexibility and swelling. Sometimes better but then it regresses. I wish I had more optimism…I’m seeing my surgeon once again this week.
Brilliant and so helpful!

Thank you, Robert, I will!
Good to hear things are going well. Best wishes
Thank you!
You're amazing honey!
Thanks, sweetie, you are the best!
I need a knee replacement, too.
Sorry to hear that...I hope that my information helps you in your journey.

I think your dance background helps. You are used to pain, technique, reaching goals etc. Not like me, no discipline. Hope you are better soon !
Yes! Thank you!
