Many companies are now implementing shift left approach with agile model. I get to participate in feature planning discussion to avoid some issues very early on. I create scenarios and develop them side by side feature development process and then just run the tests when feature development is done to catch bugs very early. I also triage any defects and pin point the cause sometimes solution as well which helps fast track bug fix. These things are helping in faster feature development. I also perform some devops activities being a QE. So i get to participate from feature discussion to deployment of the feature, which i only do the deployments and monitor.

not a tester but i strongly beleive that best engineers are test engineers, HFT's pay test engineers more then devs
