Skyrim: guards ignore you
Kingdom Come: "Oi where's your ruddy torch, it's illegal to go about in town at night without a light! Right, gonna have to fine you."
"every citizen needs to carry around an open flame"
Me reading book in my room in rattay
Guard : Oi!! Where the freaking torch
Even when you are fast travelling
for the fact that kcd was made in a small team of developers with limited resources, this is a great game
Skyrim was made by 100 people bro
@@let_me_explain8572Skyrim had a significantly higher budget and the average team size throughout development was also quite a bit bigger. Big games have only gotten more expensive and challenging to make since then.
@@raskolnikov6443 having a bigger budget doesn't mean that all of the money go to development, there are also PR expenses, server maintenance expenses, studio's staff expenses, conferences expenses. And while the KCD basically had no PR campaign whatsoever and came out of nowhere to the surprise of many, Skyrim was awaited by most of the gamers at the time and not only thanks to the reputation of the previous games but also to a huge extent it was the result of a massive PR campaign that Bethesda orchestrated.
but Skyrim released wayyy eariler than KCD, like 6-7 years eariler.
@@semaht03What does that have anything to do with it? Their budget was a lot bigger with a much more known team. KCD was made by a nobody squad and performed just as good if not better.
Kcd is a fantastic game the real deal but Skyrim is a simple and more casual game that most people love and is easier to play. Both fantastic games.
well said
Skyrim will still live in 30 years, this game will never die
I love both games for but I must say I have a weakness for the feeling of authenticity that KCD brings.
I really like the encounters during fast travel that Kingdom Come Deliverance has, more open-world games should have them IMO, they make fast travel feel a bit less boring and a bit less like cheating.
Tbf they also happen when youre rawdogging your traveling. Its just most of us never get them cause sticking to roads is just not a thing lol
You must keep in mind that although Bethesda has fallen from grace in recent days, in 2011, Skyrim was one of the best received games of the time.
It's important to note that these two entries are seven years apart. Skyrim, when it released, was made for the Xbox 360/ PlayStation 3 console generation; hardware which originally launched in the mid 2000's. Oblivion, from 2006, and Skyrim, were both entries of the same generation designed to run on the same systems. Although I must give credit where credit is due and agree that KCD is a much better game in every aspect, saying that Skyrim falls short to Kingdom Come is equivalent to saying the flip phone falls short to the smartphone. Different times, different tech.
Unrivaled by any of the other RPGs at the time, Bethesda was informally crowned the kings of the open world RPG in the late 2000's and early 2010's. An unfortunate consequence of Skyrim's massive success however is that Bethesda became too confident in their formula and failed to realize that the gaming industry as a whole would make leaps and bounds over the following years. Their complacency would only become amplified as time moved on.
The mechanics of Skyrim were fairly standard for the industry at the time. In 2011, loading screens were still very common and we thought nothing of it. Most actions were still completed in menus and the general tone for gaming was shifting more towards "casual" experiences. As time marched forward however, more and more games began to drop loading screens, menus continued to be used less frequently and gaming mechanics began to become more in-depth.
With "medieval" RPG entries like the Witcher 3, KCD, Divinity 2, BG3, Dragon Age: Inquisition, Elden Ring, and the Souls-likes of the previous decade, Skyrim these days now feels like a relic of the past. Even in the broader category of the Open World RPG, we have titans like RDR2, Cyberpunk 2077, and the newer AC titles. All of which have innovated the genre far beyond what Skyrim was ever capable of achieving 13 years ago. Now, however, Bethesda still releases games structured identically to the formula they pioneered in the Morrowind and Oblivion era. As we have seen with the 2023 release of Starfield, Bethesda doesn't know what modern gaming looks like anymore. While their competitors are busy playing 3 dimensional chess, Bethesda is sitting in the corner playing checkers by themselves.
The next several years will be detrimental to the survival of the studio. Soon we will have entries like Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, Grand Theft Auto 6, The Wayward realms, and the Witcher 4. We don't know yet how much innovation these upcoming titles will bring to the industry, but I think its a safe bet to say gaming is about to go through yet another revolution, much like what we saw in the late 90's and mid 2010s. If The Elder Scrolls 6 is set to be released between 2026-2029, and they are still creating games with the same mindset they had 2 decades ago, they will surely go under.
My brother in christ, you didn't have to go and write a new rendition of the bible
I think I would enjoy Kingdom Come: Deliverance a lot if I had a rig that could run it. That being said, I find Skyrim very satisfying to replay, having played it over 10 years almost exclusively, except for a 300 hour dalliance with New Vegas.
@@Valfothr and you don't have to read it like a devotee
8:12 Oh, the herbalism skill in KCD is glorious. At level 0 you pick each plant individually. On level 20 you pick every plant of the type within a sizeable circle around you. In dense areas this can easily be a hundred plants in one go and thousands within a couple minutes.
You also can level up strength while doing herbalism.
In my humble opinion Kingdom come deliverance is better than Skyrim bye a long shot
sorry but *by
I like both and still play both. KCD has much better quests, dialogue, and combat. Skyrim has more flexibility in character creation and play. Both are great.
Hell no
Skyrim released wayyy eariler than KCD, like 6-7 years eariler.
Your opinion is wrong 😂
Love both, but KCD is my favorite of all time
at the end we skyrim players are going to nexusmod to download some mods
But we all know Kcd's combat is a beautiful art which is skyrim's greatest weakness
You may not know what you have just done. But MAN here in Czech community you would be a meme lord. There is one, more so hundred, things going on between Skyrim and the Warhorse founder Daniel Vavra. xD
Lol XD
Dan love skyrim🤭🤭
i just want kcd II alreadyy. aaggghh
showed bad clip of skyrim guard . they do comments about u holding a wopean in fact they comment diffrently on each type either magic in general / fire magic , all swords types , even special artifacts like molag ball mace
Well games arent meant to feel like a chore. I love the realistic feel KCD brings but the game is hard to learn and get good at. In Skyrim you're gonna have fun off the start.
I just enjoy learning and improving . Even a kid doesn't go straight to high school or college 😉
Nice way of saying that Skyrim is a game for filthy casuals 😃
having complexity in a game doesn't make playing it a chore.
Both amazing, Skyrim is more fantasy, KCD is more realistic!
We are comparing a 2011 video game with another from 2018, this speaks volumes about the 2011 game. Skyrim > KCD
KCD - small team, deeply thought out, one loading screen, beautiful world, it's made for players after that for money. // Bethesda - Starfield, Fallout 76, I know, on the other hand, they also have good games. I love Skyrim too and Oblivion was also epic in time of release.
Skyrim walked so the kingdom could come
If there's one thing both games do right howrver, its the music.
Even tho im a big fan of kcd and love the game, on skyrim i have more hours played by far. Its just very differend feeling of the game, both games are great.
I wonder if Henry can swim in this next one
I hope so. At least without the armor on
Kingdoms come is Skyrim on steroids
Except without all the fantasy
@@DeamortisWare Damn, you clever bastard
You've noticed both games aim for quite a different experience, despite being under RPG umbrella
no its not. either game is not better or worse, its just two great differend games
you have to keep in mind that you’re comparing a game that released on the PS3 and a game that released on the PS4
That's why I'm comparing gameplay mechanics that weren't limited by hardware performance.
I put maybe 20 hours in KCD and was just done. Ive put 1000s of hours in Skyrim. Im currently doing a VR playthrough.
as a czech person, skyrim is imo better. but i have high hopes for kcd2
thank god for skyrim mods then and today.
There is no comparison here, KCD is technically vastly superior. 7 years is a big difference for a game.
I got all the achievements in both games
Lembra mais Oblivion na interface
Some kind of incorrect comparison. Skyrim came out a long time ago, it's over 10 years old. It's clear that KCD is much better both in terms of graphics technology and in terms of gaming setting. It's like comparing Doom 2 (1994), for example, and Doom 3 (2004).
Personally, skyrim still has the best gameplay. Now, the combat in KCD is really neat, but it wasn't enough to hold my attention.
That's why I compare gameplay mechanics that are not limited by technology
Why KCD looks like oblivion)?
I wish KCD have more mods like Skyrim. The game is better in every way, just need more mods.
They said Kingdom Come was gonna have realistic swordplay but ive done HEMA for about all my life and i still keep getting my head bashed in by that poorly rendered old coot
Skyrim released wayyy eariler than KCD, like 6-7 years eariler. Surely KCD learned a lot from Skyrim at their development phase.
you can see a lot of influences
Swimming .. XD
Realism. It's impossible to swim with armor, weapon and supplies.
@@dmytrodanilov9334 yea, in the start of a journey I used to run around "naked" + small snack, so I could bring to Peshek as much loot as possible without the slow crowl of over encumberance. :)
Henry cannot swim no matter the load, which is fine - swiming was not "in" those days. I just found it funny that it was included into the list.
Well KCD is Open World RPG with many functional systems with depth that makes it more realistic. Skyrim is Point clicking Loading simulator.
Imagine comparing a 13 year old came to a 5 year old.. LOL just proves how good skyrim is.. and one more thing though, why am I seeing more streamers playing skyrim in recent years than KDC though.
i wish there was skyrim WITH all kcd mechancics lol
No, thanks. That would be boring af.
@@professionalhater3348it would make it way less boring
I could never get beyond the clunky combat and animations of KCD.
Henry, what are you doing with that weapon in your hand? Thats forbidden put it away!,
Bruh after he said that i cant, ill put my weapon away 💀
It's not right to compare these two games... The war horse team didn't even have 10% of Bethesda's technology or resources and still, i prefer kcd
Why are these 2very different games being compared?
In my opinion kcd is just fundamentally better
Wells Skyrim has more quality of life things like quick alchemy and having magic
Kcd’s realism is just good
Honestly people who say kcd is “to hard” need to get rid literally kcd is easy as sh money is easy to make just gotta learn reading and alchemy and the fighting isn’t that hard
Sure it takes a bit to get used to but once you do it’s even more easier than Skyrims combat making it so that if you’re amazing at combat in kcd you
Basically become a god and immortal
Wells skyrims combat is way to simple also pss easy and basically has you rely on enchanting to make you a god obviously skyrims combat is easier but it’s just to simple
Like Skyrim you can get into a lot of random encounters in kcd
Kcd in my opinion is just better
Say what you want
If you’re a Skyrim fan and say it’s better than that’s your opinion.
I hate skyrim, got bored after an hour.
On the other hand I love KCD but the swordplay is horrendous. It favors passive turtling like no other game and it even punishes you for playing aggressively. The whole combat revolves around master strikes, therefore combos are undoable because the enemy just masterstrikes them. Also, the game is designed around 1v1s, a 1v2 is doable, a 1v3 is a sluggish chore and anything above is an infuriating slow mess where minor mistakes get punished harshly.
Skyrim was fun, kcd was boring. Bethesda knew what they where doing and it was exciting to play.
Some mechanics like alchemy and picking flowers in TES V Skyrim are very simplistic, and in KCD they are super time-consuming to the point that they interrupt the flow of the gameplay making it boring. I hope they can find a middle ground in their next game.
In kingdom come, you can just buy flowers and there is also a perk which allows you to make potions instantly
KCD alchemy once u reach lv 10, you can do auto brew but I would say it still requires a bit of grind to get there. You can also fasten it by learning from master orreading alchemy books but I also hope KCD2 let us unlock autobrew faster. Herbs you can buy from merchant and you don't need that many anyway.
it's all about patience, even in real life you can't do everything right away.
I prefer Skyrim's pickpocketing but that's it.
Comparing these two games is like comparing dogs to cats.
So it's totally reasonable comparison then? Why wouldn't you make comparisons between two mammalian predators?
yes, that's why I only chose mechanics that are similar to each other in both games. For example, I didn't compare that there is no magic in KCD because that would make no sense.
@@Simon_GamingChannel Well Magic in Skyrim has about as much depth as its combat system. Point and click and that is all.
Skyrim wins
When it comes to playability, Skyrim is still the king compared to KCD. As an archer myself, Skyrim really nailed the bow shooting feel and mechanics, whereas in KCD it’s so lame and discouraging. Skyrim just brings gaming pleasure, but KCD is very woody and sluggish. The best thing about KCD is the medieval atmosphere, architecture and landscape.
I disagree....KCD is for hardcore gamers and Skyrim is just for casual fun.But that's my opinion, I don't like fntasi. KCD can make you cry and make you laugh. Not being able to shoot without training is your fault, not the game's fault.😉
@@nikolaprchalova7641 I understand and respect your point of view, but I can clearly see that you have never shoot a bow in real life. The physics behind the archery in KCD is totally unbearable and unsatisfactory; even mods cannot fix this problem such as speed in ease or aiming reticle. I believe that if KCD had a more dynamic combat system it would be far better and fun to play. When playing games you want to relax after a long day of work, not struggle with stupid mechanics.
@@Domenico_EinaudiI like the physics of archery in KCD.
what sucks about Skyrim questlines is its not timed, some Quests in KCD is timed even the side quests. It also overwhelms you with sidequests from the start, thats why I hate it so much
Yoo to be real I think Skyrim lock picking and pickpocketing is way more realistic then Kingdom come deliverance. When I seen the lockpicking in Kingdom come Deliverance I just started laughing looks like a rune circle I'm like so that's what your gonna come across when I lock pick something in real life a rune circle. A lot of games today is based off realistic stuff when seeing this video I just laugh at Kingdom comes deliverance lock picking and pickpocketing and just seeing the comments on people saying Kingdom come is way better just makes me laugh. 😂😂😂
I have to laugh at your comment.😂😂😂😂
Skyrim is the better game by a huge long shot.
Dumb comparison
skyrim sucks doo doo
Skyrim is the most overrated game of its time and the most simplified part of its predecessors. A game for idiots, honestly.
Well, somebody woke up and chose violence.
Yeah because gaming is supposed to be a very intellectual activity, right? It's just a damn game, no need to feel superior about liking "more complex mechanics" games over simpler games.
