    I love how Korchnoi's first idea wasn't, e.g., "buy a security system" or "buy a gun" or "hire a bodyguard", it was "get some stooge to sleep in my bed so he'll get shot instead" LOL

    I read this story many many years ago on Yasser's book. He keep telling this stories in between his lectures and I never got tired listening to this amazing story with Korchnoi. I am glad now there is a video DEDICATED to this story!

    That's actually similar to a detective story I have read. A person thinks he's life is in danger and gets another complete stranger to live in his home for a week or more while he himself goes to hiding. Later the stranger hires a detective to find out what's going on

    Back in the early ‘70s or possibly late ‘60s my father played chess with a Russian man every morning at his favourite coffee bar in Estepona in southern Spain - then he just suddenly stopped showing up. A week or so later he was discovered in the hills at the back of town with bullets in him.

    Let’s be real... Korchnoi picked up on those closeted vibes Yasser puts off and thought he would try his luck at some cuddle time in the guest bedroom... when Yasser rebuffed him Korchnoi pretended like he intended for Yasser to take the master bedroom all along.

      There's a lot of money, status, and influence involved in world championship matches, completely believable. Even more so given that this was during the soviet era.
