WHAT A GREAT SOUND THEY CREATED. THIS MUSIC WILL LIVE ON.
"THE ANGELS" DEFINED THE 70'S FOR ME.
Music today is not even close to this era of music.
The angels will rock on forever.
Had the good fortune to meet Doc at our record warehouse (DJ's Sound City) on Angel City's first American tour. He had never seen so many records in one place, and was quite impressed when I showed him where their album was amongst the 10s of thousands on the shelves. Got an autograph lp and the thrill of a lifetime. Angel City rocked the Paramount in Seattle that night.
RIP Doc Neeson
Easily one of the greatest bands to come from Oz and anywhere else for that matter. So many things to celebrate about this band I can't even focus on one.
RIP Doc. The best Aussie band of their era - original and energetic. Nobody could make an RSL club or pub ROCK like they did. Their songs played such an incredible part of my life as a teenager - amazing memories!!!!
better the AC/DC?
I prefer them over AC/DC
-
@@lcasalini In my opinion - yes - but I'm a huge fan of AC/DC. Lyrically, The Angels were more diverse and Doc Neeson was the equal of any national or international frontman I've seen in 40+ years. I saw the band live many times from 1979 onwards and I was blown away by every performance. :))
Just love The Angels. One of my favourite groups
the best
shed a tear at work when I heard the sad sad news. Brilliant songwriter, great showman great singer. Never to be forgotten
j6k7
Saw them as The Keystone Angels supporting ACDC in 1975, Whyalla Cinema, SA. A school excursion that cost $0.60.
A fan ever since. I always preferred them over ACDC.
So underrated !! What a great band!!!!!!!!
AGREE
The Angels were the classic 'Aussie Rock Band'. I saw them many times over the years and they never failed to deliver even up until Doc's end. I admire all of the band members through The Angels journey and remember them as a key influence through my younger years. My old mates still reference our times seeing them when we get together, special times.
Couldn't of said it better..awesome..
Couldnt beat an Angels gig, always packed and they were always 1st class, i miss them days :(
His voice actually got better over time
Never knew the angels before coming to Australia, fucking awesome band!!
Sin city I think they where called out of Australias???
Damned right
In the US they were called Angel City, because there was already a band called Angel….
The Angels performed this live on 23 December 1999 at ABC Studio 22 Sydney, just after Doc performed at the Tour of Duty - Concert for the Troops, a benefit concert held on 21 December 1999 in Dili, East Timor, for the Australian troops serving with the International Force for East Timor (INTERFET). Doc Neeson initiated the concert and participated, despite having been involved earlier in the month in a serious traffic accident in Australia, in which he had suffered severe whiplash and serious nerve damage to his neck and spine. On New Year's Eve 1999 they performed their last concert at the MGM Grand Darwin Millennium Concert. Shortly afterwards, Doc Neeson announced his hiatus from the band due to the injuries from the traffic accident.
Doc Neeson - Vocals, Rick Brewster - Lead guitar, John Brewster - Guitar, Jim Hilbun - Bass, Brent Eccles - Drums
Doc throws the winning dice
Doc Ur the brightest star in the night sky
Ur number 1 fan 💙🌹
God of Aussie rock 🌹
Angel City forever, Forever Angel City
Timeless. First band I ever saw live when I was 15 at Huskisson RSL in NSW Australia.
Great song, great band.
I've been listening to them a lot this last month. I do that from time to time with certain bands where I just go deep on the entire catalog. Angels music is easily some of the best pure rock ever produced. They definitely have moments that make you think of AC/DC but it's really more about guitar tone I think. Angels had such an amazing sense of melody (clearly this was the Brewster's influence) and great gifts with the chorus (Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again, etc). Just love this band.
hell yeah.....same same....just tday my neughbours enjoyed angels very loudly...
ohhhhhh the good old days of the bridgeway, Lennys, findon .....
7 years on.. still a spot on comment.
@@henryg3146 It just proves the validity that great music survives over time, fads, favorites, whimsical notions and fashion. That to me is the power of music. It's one of the only "things" I can think about that has this power.
They have such an enviable back Catalog I loved seeing these guys live. But looking back after all these years Howling is such a rock solid album...Some pearler tracks.
I’m so glad these videos. They have always bin a band. I can’t get enough of 💝
The greatest underrated ass kicking rock band of all time. Saw them in 82 at the Paramont in PDX…. Still the greatest show !
With Missing Person !! It was Awesome !
GOD BLESS THE ANGELS!
AUSTRALIAN ROCK GODS IMMORTAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh the Angels Never failed to deliver..those wasted concerts raging hard .. Angels hard rock..period
He sings effortlessly, does anyone agree?
Oh Doc! RIP dude, we'll see your face again!
I'm reading Bob Yates' book on the Angels (written with the Brewster brothers). They were a great band with a slew of classics. Always loved After the Rain particularly. Terrific lyrics and typically memorable Rick Brewster guitar figure. Awesome!
Pity the Brewsters treated Doc like crap. Total arseholes
We backed em at the old tudor in tassie and played the riff from"after the rain"in one of our songs while the boys were in the audience ,cheeky.
the first 40 seconds pure magic
Its a tradgedy most people have never seen them, its on my bucket list to see them.rip doc neeson
Had the pleasure of seeing them many times, not too many better bands
My bucket list too. I am in a will and will be able to see them jam one day.
Rip doc you never will be forgotten
Too right.
Also RIP Chris Bailey
Wow 8 years ago .. yes RIP Chris bailey and all other great musicians and great People.

Rip doc . The greatest of auzzie rock . He made my taste of music and the meanings in his songs lead me in the right path
04-06-2014 R.I.P Legend Aussie Rocker, Gone but not forgotten!!!!!
One of the great bands that ever come out of australia get well doc we need you up front again
can never be replaced! still love the angels but with a heavy heart
saw these guys at the 3 SWALLOWS HOTEL at greenacre one day, just blew my mind, it was especially awesome when DOC clocked this bloke with his guitar, RIP my friend
Best line up of this band ... NZ drummer and a US bass player. .
Check out live at Narara ... Love it
So glad i got to see these guys so many times in the western suburbs of Sydney at all the good haunts in the 80,s and 90,s
Thanks Doc. Thanks mate. Legend.
these guys were alot more famous than they were ever given credit for i saw a interview on aussie tv and they said a mostly local fame hmm is a locallay famous band known on the other side of the world i dont think so i grew up with this stuff and still love it
RIP Doc, only best front man ever that's No Secret
Brilliant Aussie rock, R.I.P Doc.
Doc voice never change. Better with age❤
AC DC have some great songs, BUTT the Angel's songs were all good. I rate them the BEST. Lucky enough to have seen them live a couple of time's. They never needed stage lights & smoke & shit going everywhere. They just put themselves out there & did what they did best!!
Fully agree
Agree
I agree. Much more lyrically diverse than AC/DC - huge admirer of AC/D though
Angle are at the top of Mt music list here first 🎶🎼🎵💯✔️
The Angels held an iconic place in Australian hard rock.
yer great days them days The Angels memoreeezaa ,RIP DOC, U LEGEND.
Angels Be With You. R.I.P. Doc
I must have seen them over 50 times but I'll bet many others could beat that because they were one of the hardest working bands ever and brought the high energy night in night out. Salute you Doc.
I'm getting another tat soon of the night attack cover. I think that cover sums up Doc and also "The Angels" in one.
I used to see Doc sometimes point out a chick in the crowd and the security would tell her that Doc wants to meet you backstage after the show. Lucky bastard lol. I wondered how he'd still have the energy because I was always spent and soaking with perspiration after an Angels concert.
I must say also that one time he stopped the show when a woman was too close to the stage holding her small child. He got her to move right back because of the child's sensitive ears.
The best line up! In their prime sound, before the car accident killed it all!
Legends! Saw them many times. Got screwed in the USA cause they had a hair metal band of the same name. The World should have given the Australian Angels a good listen! Awesome and individual. Long live Doc! Where is the good Australian Rock! It seems to be gone, 😢
Doc Neeson was GREAT and made this Band a success
I AM THE DEVIL AND I AM STILL YOUR SAVIOR
Excellent. THANKS VERY MUCH.
The single ad at the end was a tiny price to pay.
Just Happy I seen angel city in 81 RIP DOC
After the rain we go get them roads get slippery after the rain LOVE the angles party hard up there doc .
Boys :) I seen you four times before I was 21.
Sydney, Newcastle gigs including earthquake climbing if stage scaffolding lol.
But, after the rain, is your masterpiece;) ta
I love these Studio 22 videos!!
Another classic Angels song primarily written by Angels rhythm guitarist John Brewster. He wrote it after watching the World At War episode on the Holocaust.
I love this band.
Arrrrrgggghhhh the Ayatollah of Rock and Rolller!!!! The warrior of the wasteland!!!
Does anyone know this lineup?
The drumming is tight 💪👍
One of the best
Such a great band.
A wise man, {you might even call him a bit of a Brewster} said, ''It's better to be at the pub thinking about God than be at church thinking about the pub.''
Let It POUR LIKE A LEG RIVER
' bout time I heard this .

Official video? After The Rain was releases in 1978, this definitely isn't The Angels from 1978! lol
