This is really country music. Not the pop stuff they call country these days. I'm not a huge country fan but I've seen Dwight live and he's the real deal.
When this dude came out he was very different from the country artists at the time. He was almost a throw back to older country music and had almost a rock edge to him,.
I'm like you, not usually a big country music fan. But, I think Dwight brought some people over because he's so good. He brought back the good, old school country music of Hank Williams and Patsy Cline.
A great example of genre-hopping music is Dwight's rockabilly version of the Motown classic, "The Locomotion" off of his 'Dwight's Used Records' album...speaking of classics, check out Toots and the Maytals' reggae version of John Denver's "Country Roads"...
Dwight was part of the new Country revolution....along with , Gerorge Strait, Randy Travis , Ricky Van Shelton, Vince Gill and others (not forgetting the females :) But the thing that got me about Dwight was that he was so cool but exciting at the same time....hard to do :)
It’s a downright shame Reactors don’t know about this Legend! Dwight is tradition, master songwriter, hit-maker! This concert is Fire….you must react to: She Wore Red Dresses
Oh my gosh!! What a gem you've found! Dwight is absolutely one of a kind. So many great hits. "She Wore Red Dresses", "Fast as You", and "Suspicious Minds" just to name a few. Great reaction by you, earned a sub from me!
Thanks for this one. Hardly anyone reacts to him. I only have 2 CD's of Dwight's, but they are among the best I have 💚🎶🎵 PS...No pair of jeans ever looked better 😉
Dwight could not make it in Nashville, he left and went to Bakersfield, CA and worked on his sound. He is now the main person carrying on the Bakersfield sound, Merle Haggard, Buck Owens, and The Byrds. He started opening for punk bands, in the video it shows a marquee opening up for the Violent Femmes.
Yeah,ck out Things Change. Video is great, like a lot of the classics. Thousand Miles from No Where, & Ain't That Lonely is a great blk, white video. I love the guy, incredibly unique awesome voice. It doesn't hurt either that he's Sexy 😅
Not a huge C & W fan but Dwight Yoakam is the exception. I do know I need to keep him away from my wife. She calls him the sexiest thing on two legs. I guess that should bother me right?

I agree 💯..... today's music sucks !!!!!
💯 well said 🥂 I saw him at the Downyown Hoedown in Detroit. He can burn the guitar up
It also falls under the genre of Acadian music. Great dancing music.

It's called the Bakersfield sound.
He is my music idol and has been for over 30 years love him❤❤❤❤❤
Not only a great singer, awesome songwriter but a bona fide actor as well.Superstar.❤
Dwight Yoakim, is really good actor as well. Plays a pretty good villain.
Try to catch him in Sling Blade (if you can find it). Great movie but it doesn't seem to be offered in streaming services anymore.
@@324cmac I've seen it, and you're right. Billy Bobs good in it, too. I couldn't believe it was him at first.
@@R777-RLM John Ritter too. Never knew he could be a serious actor.
@@R777-RLM I was talking to JMBoy too.
Dwight has a unique voice , i'm not a huge country music fan but i always know its him when i hear him.

@@324cmac One of Dwights idols was Buck Owens so we know where some of his old school country feel comes from.
Fast as You, Thousand Miles from Nowhere are just a few he is amazing!
I don't listen to too much country, but Dwight Yoakam is a living legend. He even acts in movies!
Luckenbach, Texas.... Waylon Jennings & Willie Nelson..... AWESOME
"I Ain't That Lonely Yet" is a great one.
Great one
Wore out that track during a divorce. LOL

I've seen Dwight Yoakam twice, he really loves to entertain and he sure has the dance moves. He is super talented as an actor and as a musician.
Dwight was part of the new Country revolution....along with , Gerorge Strait, Randy Travis , Ricky Van Shelton, Vince Gill and others (not forgetting the females :) But the thing that got me about Dwight was that he was so cool but exciting at the same time....hard to do :)

Love Dwight Yoakam 💗 Loved to watch him with his leg movements.Thank you for some great memories I forgot about.🎵🎶💗
He played the bad guy in Slingblade
Oh my gosh!! What a gem you've found! Dwight is absolutely one of a kind. So many great hits. "She Wore Red Dresses", "Fast as You", and "Suspicious Minds" just to name a few. Great reaction by you, earned a sub from me!
Buck Owns brought Dwight along, you can hear the Bakersfield's sound in his music.
I miss country.
Dwight’s a good good artist and actor! Amazing watching professional musicians they play so intuitively Gods gift! Thanks for review
Dwight’s a good good artist and actor! Thanks for review
All the necessary elements to make a Classic Country tune from the 80's.
Yokum, yoe -kum
React to anything by Dwight. Every song is good. I never tire of listening to him. He makes great videos too ❤❤❤
My favorite country artist!
Thanks for this one. Hardly anyone reacts to him. I only have 2 CD's of Dwight's, but they are among the best I have 💚🎶🎵

My favorite singer! Great albums and a great live performer. Check out “International Heartache”. A light hearted one.

Its called a fiddle
This is what country music is supposed to sound like

You won't be disappointed!!

Haha! Well, he's 67 years old now so not quite the pretty boy he was back then.
YAY!!!
Reaction to Ursa Major, Back to the Land, PLEASE
Dwight Yoakama and Alison Krauss made me think country music was going to be listenable again .
Boy was I ever wrong .
Around the time he wrote this, he and Sharon Stone had recently been a couple…
I prefer the studio version. You might try it if you like this song enough.
Please do "You're the One" It is kind of a country diss track.
FYI A VIOLIN IS FOR CLASSICAL MUSIC, ORCHESTRA MUSIC & the likes.
But in Country Music
Bluegrass Music & the likes its a Fiddle 🎻
The studio version of this song is so much better. I like Dwight’s concerts, but he’s not one of those singers who sound better live
Fiddle
Honey, 😂😂😂 there are no violins in country music…that’s a fiddle
