It's crazy how Jukebox is crazier than Kanan as adults but so tame and kind in Raising Kanan. Whatever it is that makes her snap, I hope they write it well.

This is the most emotionally vulnerable we see Kanan the whole series. He was a cold dude but only had a heart when it came to Tariq.
He saw a son in Tariq same way Ghost saw a son in Shawn. Kanan told Tariq, if I had to, I’ll kill him again because he was soft not like Tariq.

I finding myself coming back to the first power with Kanan to understand everything.
@@mscaine2291 Yeah, that was the initial plan, but Kanan had a soft spot for Tariq. With regard to Juke, she and Kanan's bond was tight up until that point. She was the only one that could get away with checking Kanan. That's shown now in Raising Kanan. He had mad respect for her.

Rewatching shit really makes you realize things. Juke telling Ghost he was “all out of his slick ass moves” was a specific choice of words. Ghost was always a quick thinker, who was persuasive & astute, who always had control of his situations & therefore the outcomes. This moment right here was when Ghost truly did not know who would walk out of that building. Even Tariq saying “Dad!” & Ghost not being able to do or say a single thing, shows just how helpless he truly was. Juke’s character had mad potential for her to have Ghost(& Kanan) shook like that.

So after watching the first episode of Raising Kanan, it’s seems like Juke is the ringleader of they whole squad, she seems to be the one that keeps everybody in check.
Because after Kanan kills the dude, everybody immediately came at Juke like “where the fuck was you at???”
So it’s slowly starting to all make sense.
I’m eager to see how this whole thing unfolds, and how Juke & Kanan develop.

I'm assuming a majority of Kanan's family ended up betraying him in a real bad way that he made enemies of them in the end and had to clip them and the betrayal route all starts with when they had his friend D-Wiz clipped. Its a shame. Neither Jukebox OR Kanan would have turned out the way that they did if they could have escaped that life that they grew up in on Raising Kanan. A damn shame what these streets can do to a person's life.
I think that is why Kanan didnt kill Tariq. He probably was hoping that Ghost would be able to get him out of that lifestyle. He knew Ghost was already trying to do better for his kids sake. He felt Tariq had a chance with GHOST. Oh well He left out a major factor. Kanan mom and Tasha were almost the same people in my eyes.

This scene is sad now after watching power book 3. Juke & Kanan were so close. But at the same time, he never sticks to the plan & Juke loses her cool when someone doesn't stick to the plan. It's so sad 😞

Wow. Seeing how Ghost loved his son and was crying because he thought it was the end for him, and how Tariq killed him and set Kanan up, makes me think about how there's alot of naturually evil people out there who'd kill you no matter how much you love them.

Tariq was a product of who he was around. Ghost wasn’t a saint either and his past caught up to him, resulting in his son becoming like him, his older eat daughter losing her life, and him losing his. Everybody was messed up in the head

Even back then when this season first aired I thought it was a waste to kill Jukebox off so quickly. She could have been a phenomenal villain.
In retrospect if kanan stayed the person he was he would’ve lived longer, he was cold hearted and knew what HAD to be done but when Tariq came around he shows weakness and compassion which got him killed
nah it was that Kanan simply didn’t see it coming. Tariq was like a son to him & he had in him what Shawn lacked, the affinity for the game. He was mentally built for it & had the brains to match. Kanan was cold asf and his downfall wasn’t showing Tariq compassion, but rather underestimating Tariq’s coldness. His fate was already sealed once he found out he was betrayed, because there was no getting out of it for him.

After the first episode of Raising Kanan and seeing how close he and Jukebox were growing up, this was the scene I had in the back of my mind to come back too. This makes this scene is more emotionally and just how savage Kanan was. Jukebox probably would not have been so cold if her girlfriend didnt die.

When Kanan was young, he did not have someone like himself, teaching him the ropes of living out in the jungle. Pretty much how Kanan does for Tariq. That's one of the reasons as to why Tariq reminds Kanan of himself so much. That is where their big and little brother or father and son relationship stems from and Tariq appreciates Kanan's honesty, hence that Kanan tells him the truth about Ghost, while Ghost would always lie to Tariq (but only to protect him from that lifestyle.)
Kanan did not want to kill Jukebox, but she kept pushing Kanan, by every moment of her opening her mouth. Even before he confessed to Tariq, as a psychopathic killer, he already made up his mind, from Jukebox's gunpoint that he is going to kill her as soon as she drops her guard, which is what is revealed in the scene.
When Kanan finally dies, after being instantly betrayed by Tariq: Kanan killed every police officer and shot the last one in execution, while staring into the eyes of Tariq, while Tariq was in the backseat of the cop's car. Kanan could have killed him but did not - this is Kanan's way of telling Tariq that he loves him, like a son. In his eyes, Tariq was not cowardice, plus Kanan knew he was going to die after that shootout, so he knew if he killed Tariq while he was sitting in the backseat, nobody would get Ghost. If Kanan wanted to kill him, he most certainly would have, as Kanan killed his biological son in execution, during a heated argument.
But in this video, this scene - After Ghost hugs Tariq, Kanan had the chance to kill Ghost but doesn't want to, because as time progressed, he began to realize that it shouldn't be him who kills Ghost. He began to see it as something to leave up to Ghost's son, Tariq. Because he understands how much Tariq hates Ghost. For Kanan, in a sick-twisted way, he feels if anyone is going to kill Ghost - it should be his own son.
Since Ghost betrayed Kanan, when they were younger - Kanan preferred Ghost to be dead. Kanan cares for Tariq, so he spares Ghost's life for Tariq to finish the life of his father.

After watching raising kanan I’m realizing that tariqs plot armor is ridiculous. Kanan killing jukebox over a teen he knew for a month makes no sense whatsoever

No it’s really not. Kanan saw in Tariq the son he never had. Kanan has basically hated/mistrusted everyone he ever met because in some capacity they betrayed him. Tariq’s persona and behavior in the early stages when he was hanging out with Kanan and everything that happened after bears a lot of similarities with young Kanan in “Book 3: Raising Kanan”. He wants to learn the game; he already knows the little things. He’s impulsive (Kanan killed Buck 20 for being on a corner that he thought still belonged to his mom. Not that different from Tariq pulling a gun on those kids that one episode when he was first hanging with Kanan). Tariq and Kanan both had parents that wanted them to leave their childhood homes and get legitimate jobs elsewhere, but they, more than anything, don’t want to leave NY. They wanna do their parents were/are doing: making money on the streets.
There’s no minimum time period to create an attachment with someone. Additionally, Kanan was in a situation where if Tariq died right there, he would have Ghost, Tommy, Tasha, and Angela + feds all coming at him. He wouldn’t want that.
