Forty years ago, I had a seven year old T-ball player that hit 38 home runs in 41 times at bat. Our fields were back to back. After the third time he hit a ball across the other playing field we had to have a talk with him to take a whole bunch off his swing. Best little athlete I think I ever saw. The sad part of this is his doctors discovered he had a heart defect. He never played any high school sports and passed away before age forty from heart problems.
OMG!!!! That is my home field! Trant field Lynnhaven, Virginia of course I play on a bigger field that is, maybe,... 230 feet, but, what a coincidence!
Reminds me of my two boys. Both played college baseball and one played 8 years in the Dodger organization as a catcher. They were hitting pitched balls like that . The kid has a great swing and plate presence.
I've seen several different age group field lengths. I'd say this is a tee ball through 5 and 6 then I think you have a 7/8 through 11/12 that's about 200 to center and 180 at the foul lines. Then it goes up to 13/14 through high school. I coach an 8u team with a couple kids that can come close on the 200 field. My son is 7 and one of the younger ones but he's right behind them. There's absolutely nothing like seeing your own flesh and blood rope one to center field. I dont know if you could buy a better feeling for a million dollars. Good smash by this young man 👍
I’m impressed the Orioles players weren’t more distracted by the fireworks. Speaking of which, the timing on the foul back and the firework boom were perfect. Kid had a good jump out of the box for a six year old. Good whack for a little player too, probably went about 65’. I’m guessing the field is 60’ at LF, 70’ at RF and probably 95’ to CF. I’m assuming base distance is at least 45’ if not 50’. Obviously a rec/dev league which is great for teaching fundamentals and preparing players for higher level baseball. Having volunteered at a youth baseball organization for over 10 years, I can tell you most six year olds (4 out of 5 players) cannot get the ball out of the infield on a fly. Kid and dad should be proud, so quit hating on them. To the teenagers saying it wasn’t that great of a hit, remember, you were six once as well and even if you could have hit it farther, you’d like having this kid as a teammate at six. And to all the adults saying they wish they played on a field this small, go back and visit those youth fields you played on again. I bet some of you would be surprised at how small they feel now.
Wow, a 12 year old baseball player would hit a homerun here...easily??? Thanks to everyone for their perceptive insight on the field size and the skills of a six year old baseball player. None of you are better than average baseball players.
I was a little league coach for a very long time. I knew I was going to have problems with "Dad", when the first words out of his mouth was that he COULD have been a Major Leaguer.
I spoke with my son, now 9, about the need for better mechanics and that he accomplished nothing when he was 6. Today, he was about to smile at his hit when he was younger but I made sure to quickly remind him about how small the field was and how much better everyone else was at that age.

This kid has attitude. The way he repeatedly smacks the plate and swings, adjusts his helmet ... he is going for the fence and will not be denied.
People are saying “that’s not even far” that’s pretty far for a kid who is 6-7 years old
Aidan that thing aka the ball was going 5 miles per hour
Lol not really I was hitting balls 120+ feet at that age
Aidan not really I hit that far when I was four off faster than that
No it's not far at all. That's probably not even near second base on a little league field
No it’s not when I was 6 I hit one over a 200 feet fence no joke this is short

Clutch Jump 1 that is the pitchers position during coach pitch. They are forced to wear a mask for safety.
