  • Our first update to FSD Beta 12.3 is here! I drive the brand new FSD Beta 12.3 short 15m drive in my 2021 Tesla Model S Long-Range Version. A much more natural driving experience. To me it feels like HUGE improvement. This is our First Drive on FDS 12.3.

    It’s impressive but it is not “learning and updating in real-time”. It’s reacting according to the inputs (cameras, position, direction, velocity, etc) and a pretrained ML model.

      In other words, FSD cannot think like a human.
      If a strange new unexpected situation happens for a human, he can adapt instantly. FSD is not capable of that.

      @@DerekDavis213 Not yet, maybe in the future. But it also may not need to. Neural nets can change their "plan" as they watch the scene; so that is more similar to how a human may "think" about it - i.e. if it gets into a situation that the current plan doesn't work for, it can use its training to develop a new plan and may well work out one that works. Once reverse is available, lots of new possibilities open up for that. Obviously the challenge here is latency, if it's a route issue, it cab be "slow" and it doesn't really matter, if it's a high speed thing, then processing time is the challenge, i.e. can it change the plan before something bad happens. That said, humans do not react "instantly". Brain latency is something like 300ms, then there is the time to physically use the controls. Computers are faster at that.

      @@eubikedude 300ms latency in a human brain is ok because our big brain is far more advanced than beta FSD software running on a low cost silicon computer.
      Even if FSD is 99 percent capable, that is still not good enough.
      A human can drive every day for years, at night and in the rain, without an accident. FSD is nowhere close to that.
      I have watched several 12.3 reviews on RUclips, and still lots of human intervention is required. Maybe v13 will be better.

      @@DerekDavis213 It deosn't need to. It will know more traffic situations than any human ever. 360 degrees awarness included, multitasking ai that knows highest probability of everything in the picture. When it's done, people like you will say, but it can't bake a cake...

    Why does your title say v12.3.1?

      I just updated the Rich text. I double checked and it’s actually 12.3. Not 12.3.1. Sorry for the mistake there. I made the corrections on the Rich text and will make the correction to the thumbnail a bit later.

    Does it work in the rain? Or at night? Or somewhere with less docile drivers, e.g. Boston?

    speed limit is 45 and the car is doing 38. Here in Jersey that's a couple of honks at least. Why does it go so slow?

      @Believage 5 месяцев назад

      I have the 24 Model Y, I don't like the new update we use to be able to go pass the speed limit now it doesn't go over the limit on the street in FSD.

      I agree, but I'm giving it a little more time to see if it gets better. Perhaps it will learn my driving habits and actually improve. We will see. I just posted another video, go check it out!

    Firstly, FSD through Navi knows it has to make a left turn after a left turn and should be on the inner left lane to begin with. No human would do this and put themselves in tight squeeze.
    That itself going into the outer left lane should have been a disengagement to begin with. Tesla must fix this decision making for 12.3.2 or don't bother sending until it is trained correctly.
    3:42 is a disengagement. It is 10seconds before another car comes by that left lane. at 3:42 FSD should have already check left lane and move over as almost one smooth continous motion. This is not acceptable for mass adoption. New user would be like , take over it not going to do it. Please report..we need it to be better than human.
