Thank you for talking about boredom and not being productive for a while. Creativity and productivity always come to me in bursts (it's very typical for people with ADHD) and the "writers should write every day even when they're not inspired" is not a mantra that suits my work habits. I tried that. It's great while it lasts, but eventually I get bored or uninspired and have to step back and refresh my mind to come up with new ideas and solutions. This boredom period is agony, but it truly is necessary for new ideas to spark.
I love learning about other writers processes. Everyone has a different method for expressing their creativity and i appreciate every view on getting it on paper.
More videos like this, please! I love worldbuilding :) P. S. Stories with really good worldbuilding: 'Mistborn' & The Cosmere universe in general (Brandon Sanderson) 'Dark Shores' (Danielle L Jensen) 'The Bridge Kingdom' (Danielle L Jensen) 'Shades of Magic' (V.E. Schwab) 'This Savage Song' (V.E. Schwab) 'Children of Time' (Adrian Tchaikovsky) 'The Culled Crown' (Brianna Joy Crump) 'The Hunger Games' (Suzanne Collins) 'Strange The Dreamer' (Laini Taylor) 'Throne of Glass' (Sarah J Maas) The Grishaverse (Leigh Bardugo) 'The Starless Sea' (Erin Morgenstern) 'The Daevabad Trilogy' (S.A. Chakraborty) And 'Harry Potter' obviously... (JK Rowling)
I'm interested in worldbuilding, but arguably more important is the people that live in it actually behave like they were raised in it. Other characters say that cool guy was 'raised in an elite warrior tribe', so he should demonstrate that when he fights or even when he socializes out of battle
The composer Brahms said he erased eighty percent of what he wrote. The muse comes once in a while, usually when least expected and you have to be ready in moments of random brilliant inspiration. But in moments in between divine inspiration he kept at it.
Been waiting for the full video for a long time..finally its here! Very insightful stuff in this interview to help you build worlds in any form of storytelling. They say you know what you know & you know what you dont know, but you dont know what you dont know that you dont know. She & the interviewer will help you know what you didnt know you didnt know lol.
im sorry but she just kept repeating the term without real identification because its a market fluff. films and books themselves are immersive. Exhibits are immersive themselves. And if you're writing for physical location, coordination is not new. This is a term to compare against other creative product for selling. WELL WRITTEN stories are immersive.
Writing is always a chore. You may have a flash inspirational 4 hour finger tapping session, but you'll only ever experience this 3 or 4 times in your entire life. A good writer is never satisfied with what they've written. It can always be improved, language cleaned up and condensed. Brevity above all. If you're ever satisfied with what you've done, you're just a hack.

She has a backround in true story telling, the true eastern oral tradition
