Awesome upgrades as known brands are proven already, but it doesn’t mean they’ll replace them if the same thing happened, but sometimes their a bit more forgiving, and I do believe that the handbrake button is backwards as it should be to push forward to engage it and not pulling backwards as that’s way to complicated, and also it should be pushing it forward to engage it because you only engage it for a second and then pull it back as it’s the same principle as a car handbrake , you only engage it for a second while you drift then release it again so you can get all your power back. I’m not sure about that transmitter but maybe you can reverse the setting on it somehow, it would definitely be worth looking into. As always Keep up the Great Work and Vids ! If you cant reverse the function of the radio control then just reverse the lever on the servo and make this work the other way round. Some problems arent real problems, By the way, i own the ex07. Both, the runner (wich esc i also blew up and replaced) and the roller wich is what i would advise people to go for. 260 euro for the roller versus 560 euro for the rtr version. My rtr came with 2 bats and one if them had one cell dead on delivery, had to be replaced as well. Batt manufacturers prefer that you do not use soft case batts for surface use due to the abuse they get. Aircraft people use soft case batts due to the weight advantage and they try to treat them nicer because the plane/heli usually breaks first.

Well that was utter bs about aircraft and car lipo's 🤣, no way they contacted the battery manufacture. It was what I said that the battery was too good for the ESC, be good to know the real amp rating of these. Keep up the high quality and honest vids guys 👍
As long as you don't short anything, soldering can be as messy as you can make it and it will not cause any fires What cause that was a faulty esc, that is what happens when QC is non existent as proven by that dry dif Now that looks like a proper car as long as the plastics hold on
I have one but not alot around for me to do a good review, and absolutely love y'alls durability tests and reviews, i pulled the trigger on a arrma senton blx 3s v3 after watching your videos, its a blast
Nice video guys. Yes, Joe your soldering has significantly improved. A pity that you got some BS from the supplier. Looks like they are trying to "Baffle you with BS and blind you with science". I can see the peak discharge rate and voltage being an issue, and yes if you pull to much current and too much voltage you will burn the ESC, that's just common sense. They should have just kept to the facts, eh?!?!? Q: After making the upgrades what sort of price differential do you think there is to the Arma Felony? Do you think you want to make any more modifications to the "Electric Hypercar"? A front splitter to help keep the nose down? Keep up the good work :)
Hey John! With the upgrade to the RTR it does raise that price up to something similar to that of the felony (with batt and charger) so I do recommend the kit version and putting these electrics or something similar in it 😁 not sure, possibly more in the future 🍻
Great vid and mods guys. Love that Hoonigan EX07. If you get a controller with AVC in it, you'll drift waaaayyyy easier like the Felony or Infraction. Subscribed.
ESC cannot handle 60C and will catch on fire = Cheap ESC with no over temp protection, or no over current protection. ZD Racing needs to put a disclaimer on the box or on the ESC. But is it ready?
The handbrake is for stopping the car instead of putting wear and tear on the motor and ESC. The car is too heavy to not use the handbrake. It's not for drifting
Don’t understand how altitude effects those batteries. Let’s say I’m at sea level, no matter how high I fly I’ll never even be at ground altitude of somewhere like Colorado sooo.... what do those just not work unless you fly miles into the air given I’m at sea level? 😂😅
I work with lipo batterys every day, electric scooters head of battery's service department of a big company, and for sure is not Your soldering or the type of battery you used, so should have open the broken esc and look on the pcb board where the fire started. futher more the bit about C rating is absolute false, yes the battery can deliver more power but the esc could easy protect it self by not asking that power from the battery, good esc have that 50 cent of electronics on there pcb/ print to counter that.
If just say the esc was garbage. Seen it happen all to much. Nothing to do with the batteries or your solder job. At first when I heard the yelling at the beginning I thought it was amber then seen it was how 😂. Have a good one you two. Can’t wait for the next video.
@@TheRcKiwis we actually had our first parent teacher conference and I was nervous but they said she is doing very well and has a very creative imagination which I love about her!! 🥰
Could even be that any replacement parts come out of the workers pocket that made that esc. If it's made by hand. Who knows. They might not even make 200 us dollars a month. But if Taiwan isnt giving them mosfets and other chips then they have to train people to use all the equipment and tooling to make those intricate parts from scratch. And if they cant handle amperage it will happen again and again. Probably a trying time for the company so I'd actually give them a break.
Hey bro, I would pick the felony over this but only just! If you prefered the look of this one then go with the exo7 its a very tough car just watch out for the ESC and might want to upgrade the servo... Cheers
I'm sorry but bullcrap! They are just making crap up to try and justify for there weak and cheap electronics that should NOT of even been put in a 1/7 scale car. Sorry it's easy to see thru their b.s. ur solder job looks alot better than others I've seen that ran flawlessly. Good video. U made my mind up about sticking with arrma and not wasting time with zd janky. BTW it looks like a flying vehicle to me lol
Yeah the batteries.... are they kidding? If they telling fool things like this they should not make RC cars.... It makes more sense not use low C rating because batteries can heat up and catch fire. Limiting power with underrated batteries is a fool thing. Simple: they don't have protection in their ESC. I also has a ZD racing but it is a truggy and I bought it without electronics 😄
that ESC looks the same as a cheap surpass one i got off banggood exept for the badging and the failure was exactly the same burnt the pcb at the bottom of the positive lead due to bad soldering job or inadequate board current capabilitys nothing to do with the batterys

Well that was utter bs about aircraft and car lipo's 🤣, no way they contacted the battery manufacture. It was what I said that the battery was too good for the ESC, be good to know the real amp rating of these. Keep up the high quality and honest vids guys 👍
Cheers Luke! 🍻
Kiwis operate in HK, good one.
As long as you don't short anything, soldering can be as messy as you can make it and it will not cause any fires
What cause that was a faulty esc, that is what happens when QC is non existent as proven by that dry dif
Now that looks like a proper car as long as the plastics hold on
What happens when a cold, weak solder joint breaks and contacts something that it's not supposed to do? Not that this happened here.
So let me get this str8... If I buy a $650 rc car I would have to spend another $170 on a bar ESC?? Not worth it to me
Definitely getting air now with those aircraft battery.. 🤪🤪🤪🤣🤣😂🤣😂🛫🛫🛫🛫
🤣🤣🤣
You 2 should do a review on the Cen Racing Reeper 1/7 scale, a durability test would be awesome
Sure does look cool! We want ALL the RC's! 😅
I have one but not alot around for me to do a good review, and absolutely love y'alls durability tests and reviews, i pulled the trigger on a arrma senton blx 3s v3 after watching your videos, its a blast
You 2 could do a pretty comprehensive, cen even makes an ARR version
Amber is just stupid hot... I bought three of whatever it was that she was selling...
I just bought one and it goes into limp mode anyway you can help me? Thanks
Hi joe...mine with stock battery still esc blown....just in 10 minute run🤦♂️just happen 30 minute ago
Thank you for sharing! It seems to be quite the issue with these cars...
@@TheRcKiwis just own it for only 3days😖😫
@@TheRcKiwis anyway all your youtube chanel is great😎👍thanks joe😊
i like makerfire they are great to deal with
They are far better at communicating than banggood!
If those batteries caused that fire it's because the esc they used was jink and didn't have proper overcurrent protection
That’s looking like fun 👍🙏
Amber is a btr driver.. she didn’t crash.😆😆😆
Hey Bro....When u do speed runs its better to remove the camera from the top.. and do more of these repair and upgrade videos!
But we need the shots! 😁 More coming soon 😉
Your soldering caused it to get airborne. That’s also why you shouldn’t use plane batteries 😂
🤣🤣🤣 Cheers mate!
so like single battery cannot exceed 60c or two battery cannot exceed 60c ?
It is a cool looking car, haha your watching the wrong channel for good drifting
don't know about the batteries being high, but i'm pretty sure the ESC manufacture was..
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 That was good!
If just say the esc was garbage. Seen it happen all to much. Nothing to do with the batteries or your solder job.
At first when I heard the yelling at the beginning I thought it was amber then seen it was how 😂. Have a good one you two. Can’t wait for the next video.
Haha, Robert! I am actually getting quite good at these speed runs 😉 Joe seems to be losing alot lately! Hehe. Thank you! You too. How is Willow? 😇
Bro , is this car good as arrma felony?????
Hey bro, I would pick the felony over this but only just! If you prefered the look of this one then go with the exo7 its a very tough car just watch out for the ESC and might want to upgrade the servo... Cheers
I'm sorry but bullcrap! They are just making crap up to try and justify for there weak and cheap electronics that should NOT of even been put in a 1/7 scale car. Sorry it's easy to see thru their b.s. ur solder job looks alot better than others I've seen that ran flawlessly. Good video. U made my mind up about sticking with arrma and not wasting time with zd janky. BTW it looks like a flying vehicle to me lol
the must do upgrades make the car cost more then a real felony lol
Yup... that’s why we recommend the kit version! 😁😉
Shame u smashed Ur car doing speed run? But Ur partner got the fastest time lol, all good all the best from the UK Shaun👍😁
She's doing pretty well! Cheers Shaun!
They should send replacement
I don't believe it was the battery I believe it was a cheap Speed control
Cut some air vents in that car bra!
I do like you guys but why on earth would you cut the wrap with a scalpel on the face of the box...why would you have to ruin it :(
Need another remite
So,basically, get the Felony?
Yes way better for the price and you can get spares easily. Do love the hoonicorn body tho
