  • Cooking a very simple dinner that reminds me of my youth. I am a Mexican and as such my family BBQ’s consisted of carne asada, tortillas, cheese, salsa, avocado, cilantro and family. This was a meal that was so simple yet it brought us together so I wanted to use my grill and cook up some carne asada and short rib slices. I am also trying out the single layer charcoal method. And last my thoughts of this grill at 7 weeks that I have owned it.
    Thanks as always

    Todo se ve bien, amigo. Me encanta tacos de carne asada al carbón.
    I know this one is few months old but it is the first time I have seen it. I appreciate the shout out. I love my Cajun Pit Stix. I guess it takes practice, but I’ve been using them so long I can’t imagine not using them.

      Thanks Big Lew! I truly appreciate the kind words. I love this pit stick, and thanks for all the recent reviews on cookware accessories and tools. I’m thinking about getting the Thermo Pop, it’s at a great price.

      Thanks, the camera is actually an iPhone 13 pro max, which is dedicated to recording my videos. I also use an iPad Mini (latest gen) to edit and upload videos.

    Nice! Is this a alternative to a regular pit? Being more compact as an advantage? Thanks.

      This grill has many advantages and it is great for tailgating, camping or honestly as a full purpose grill. It’s great for 3-4 people and has a good amount of cooking surface.
      I would say the advantage is the portability and the fact that cast iron can last for decades. Even after being neglected, cast iron can be brought back from rust and pitting damage with proper techniques. Also no toxic chemicals are used to coat the iron. Just plain oil of your choosing to keep it from rusting. Hope this helps and thanks for watching

      @@luisj.castironcooking definitely helps! I’ll invest in one for all the above mentioned. I love my finex and smithey cast iron/carbon steel. For all mentioned above. Looking forward to the new seasoning video!

    what do you think about the weber go-anywhere charcoal grill?

    • @luisj.castironcooking
      @luisj.castironcooking  2 года назад +1

      It’s great and it’s something I would consider getting. I like the feet that also double as carry handles. It’s made of steel and has been painted. The only thing is how long will it last? I’m sure they are built well but with time and use the paint starts to fade, chip, scratch and wear. With all that said I think it’s a great grill and definitely a great competitor to any cast iron grill. Right off the bat it is lighter that a cast iron grill for sure.

      @@luisj.castironcooking the great thing about it is you can buy cast iron grill grates for it and replace the steel grill grates
