Having just participated in Patriot Nurse’s in-person medical and herbal courses this past week and a half, I can attest that I am much more prepared to deal with both short- and long-term potential crises. During the jam-packed days, Patriot Nurse imparted knowledge and theory, facilitated interactive discussion, answered all questions, challenged and sharpened our critical thinking skills, and set up multiple applications of knowledge into action. We came away with being able to make concrete assessments of a person’s medical status, with ways to use skills and herbs that we have on hand, and with actual capabilities to improve many and varied medical ailments. I feel better equipped to truly help not only those close to me, but to my surrounding community, as well. Fountain Inn South Carolina here. Pray for our lineman, fire,EMS,etc. Still lots of people with no power. Many unprepared.
Almost moved there last year but God put roadblocks in the closing of the house. Now I know why. Praying for you.
Agreed in in Ft.Inn and still out of power glad was prepared. Just got out today to go to work. Some of the business and folks there were cooking hot meals giving away and opening there homes to feed and let shower. I love this use to be small town. Hate it's growing like Simpsonville.

Side note: Wife is an RN, and she reminded me that people with special health needs are in extreme risk in the now isolated Appalachian Flood Zone. Dependent upon Oxygen, Nebulizers, Dialysis, Med Pumps, Home Health visits, meds that need refrigeration ( diabetics), Hospice, etc. Tragedy unknown.

As a medic in devastated southwest va mountains, rescues ran out of oxygen on the trucks in three days. Also, ran out of diesel responding to fire calls. Three days, folks. The hospitals cut back to ER services only due to lack of oxygen.

E. Tenn. Expat. Thanks for your channel. I've been urging friends and family since 2008 to set aside some basic preps. Most are polite and then resume normal operation. A few have stepped it up.
About a month ago, I started hearing from several folks - some complete strangers about how to get started. I always advise newbies to immediately secure 3 days of canned food, batteries, a portable radio and enough water. Do it today.
Then I advise 3 weeks. 3 months. 3 seasons. 3 years.
I've built my own 3 stage biofilter out of 5 gallon buckets. The top bucket is gravel, and the second bucket is sand. The last bucket is activated charcoal. YT has videos on this. I used it first hand, and it works.

I need to get on the ball. I have the buckets,play sand,2 bags of LUMP charcoal but no pea gravel!!! Gotta get!!!!

Ran across a deal on Chef boyardee, bought 4 cases of spaghetti-o n ravioli for less than $1 each can
I have to smile. I found a big honking can of Chef Boyardee ravioli at the dollar general, and it was on sale.
I picked up a couple of cans, because it is comfort food.

My family has lived in East Tennessee since the 1800's. Yes, there's always flooding and landslides, but nothing - nothing - like this in the collective memory or handed down as such.
People laugh when i say spaghetti o cambells beans sardines and canned peaches and pineapple are all easy no cook food that are cheap and easy . Also a can opener is not needed to open a can only a flat rock. Cement sidewalk rub can on it lid edge will wear down and your open .
Canned ravioli and a coke, firefighters' breakfast of champions...

I lived in Missouri and Mississippi. The southern folks are excellent at taking care of each other. I was a deputy until i was injured to the point that I could no longer do my job. My monthly check is covering less and less. But I still find ways to prep. I saved a few dollars each month, then at the holidays I buy equipment/gear. I go to the food banks. I save coupons. I find ways to prepare. Some months are better than others. Look at your budget and make the changes. Learn skills. Get your HAM radio license. There is so much you can do that doesn't cost $$. So no excuses, just get moving. You got this.

THE PUMPS!!!! run them at WOT (WIDE OPEN THROTTLE)... but even then the movie U 571... where a land soldier on OLD WW2 submarine notices how much water is coming into the boat when it goes underwater asks the captain...."how deep will she go?"... Capt replies..."OH she'll go all the way to the bottom... we try to keep her above 260 ft or the leaks overwhelm the pumps." many ppl are.... waist deep in water in the boat trying to fix the bilge pumps ... that are leaking water into the boat.

Here in the PNW the ice storm of ‘21 our power was out 11 days. I found a few holes in my preps, honestly I was good, the wife was loosening her stuff. We were ready to go for longer, when the natty G came down my driveway with water, blankets and MRE’s. I told them we’re good , thanks for stopping by.

No matter what prep we have in place, when disasters occur in a falling world, NO one can say how it will go, all prep can be destroyed as well. In any disaster, you are the first responder. And I hope everyone notices that usually the first ones to offer help are their neighbors. Government will get there eventually. I made it through Harvey easily as I like to stay stocked up. The only thing I ran out of was milk (which I rarely use). Prayers for the entire region!

You had a storm in 1916 that was bad, but the population was much smaller. The strongest hurricane to hit the USA was 1938 and hit in new England and stayed a hurricane all the way to Canada over dry land, made Katrina look like a kitten.

Same here. Wrecked my parents S. Central PA basement contents with 5 feet of water.
Don't remember it, but I was 9. We live on higher terrain. Communities all around us that were on the Susquehanna River, and smaller waterways, were inundated. Wilkes-Barre had water up to the second story,
