This story is true!
I used to work at Disneyland in CA as an Attraction Host. One of my attractions was the Haunted Mansion.
One night, we were getting close to closing and were getting the last few people onto the attraction. I was up at our “control center” position where we have a bunch of cameras all over the attraction to make sure that our guest are not messing with any of the ghosts that live there or each other. At this position you sit at a desk with all the monitors for the cameras in front of you. Behind you is the “maintenance bay” for the buggies (the carts you ride in) and the only thing that is in between you and the track is a heavy red curtain.
The night was going as normal as any, guests weren’t causing any trouble and the ghosts seem to be pretty calm. All the sudden the ride stops and I get a call from our unloader, I pick up the phone and she is stating that a young boy just ran up the track. I put the phone down and turn around in my chair just in time to hear the soft laughter of a young boy and a ripple through the curtain like he was running his hand along it as he ran by. I jumped up and pulled the curtain open to get the boy out of harms way on the track, but no one was there. I know that there are ghosts who live on the attraction but I had not seen one this “real”. I stepped onto the track and followed it searching the buggies for anyone till I came to the loading area. I asked if the Cast Members here had seen a young boy, this being the only place that he could have gone. They told me no. I searched the buggies again as I returned to my position. I turned and closed the curtain, as soon as the curtain was closed completely I heard a soft laugh and a young boy say “I win hide and seek, good luck next time”.
